Where your space is limited, or if you want a switch to be unobtrusive, you can fit narrow architrave switches into your door frames. The process is simple and takes only a minute or two to complete. You can finally type like a pro in the dark.

Depending on the manufacturer and model of your device, you might be able to turn on and adjust the keyboard light via your PC's control panel menu. LED keyboards have a different concept. If you fancy colorful lights that keep changing based on what you use, or you want to design your idea, then they fit well. I am using the Corsair LED keyboard, and I can choose a color for individual keys using their software.

Asus users will be able to tell the functions based on the symbols on the keys. If there are no light symbols anywhere on the keyboard, the laptop is not equipped with this function.

This software can also turn off the lights, and even if you press the hardware, nothing will happen. So if there is any such software, and you had changed it, undo it. Dimmers let you to raise and lower the light level - and may have a combined or separate on/off and dimming control, so you don't have to readjust the light level every time you turn on the light. A great example of this is the app used for Razer's laptops and peripherals: Synapse. The Synapse app can be used to customize the lighting effects of your Razer gaming laptop's keyboard or your Razer desktop gaming keyboard. And this can include increasing or decreasing the brightness of your keyboard light or adjusting the settings so that the light stays on or off in sleep mode.
