Even though this is the second book in the series it can be read as a standalone as anything you need to know is explained. He's one of my favourite narrators and as this book progressed it became clearer all the time that he is actually the perfect fit for it. Learning about art on our home education journey Learning about art at school consisted of me coming up with ideas that I could never quite carry off and admiring the other student’s artwork particularly those of squashed cola cans. I thought the story was leading us to where Demitrios and Felix maybe would meet up on the former battlefield where they both lost comrades/brother.

It’s good and quite rare to find books we both enjoy allowing us to discuss them leading to even greater pleasure. At the end of the day, if no one died, the business kept spinning, and the world didn't end, falling on the sword for someone else was worth it.Ben studies the history books from the time so no stone is left unturned in his quest to deliver a story of the highest quality. Lightning strikes random enemies under the cloud, dealing 605% weapon damage as Lightning and Stunning them for 2 seconds.

Readers are following in the footsteps of Consul Flamininus and the campaign against Phillip of Macedon for control of the Greek empire and lands.

Kane does an excellent job portraying larger than life historical figures such as Flaminius and Phillip the 5th, while at the same time giving you a glimpse into the daily life of soldiers on both sides of the conflict.

The battle will go down in history as one of the bloodiest ever fought, a battle in which Hanno knows he must fight as never before - just to stay alive. Get ready for the climax of the Roman invasion of Greece in Sunday Times bestseller Ben Kane’s latest historical adventure. There is the right balance of subterfuge and intrigue as well as panoramic battle scenes (one of my favourite is the battle of Zama in the first volume of this series). He tells the story of Rome’s gradual victory over Philip V of Macedon during Rome’s invasion and occupation of Greece from the point of view of the ordinary soldier on both the Greek and the Roman side as he is always sympathetic to their plight whether voluntary soldier or veteran.
