Another out of this world Malteser recipe to spoil yourself with! I doubt if one slice is enough – I didn’t stop until the sixth slice! 13. 32 – Second Maltesers Milkshake Grab the recipe here! A two-layer chocolate malt sponge, with chocolate spread filling, malt buttercream frosting, maltesers, and more! Perfect Malteser cake! For the full recipe with measurements, head to the recipe card at the end of this post. How to make Maltesers Cake Add the melted butter, chocolate and syrup mixture to a bowl, followed by the digestives and Maltesers (leave a few aside to decorate the top). Mix together well. Measure the malted chocolate drink powder and cocoa powder into a large bowl, pour over 2 tablespoons of water and mix to a paste. Add the remaining cake ingredients and beat until smooth.

There is something magical about chocolate cake. No matter what shape or size. But when you have four layers of chocolate cake, each one sandwiched together with homemade chocolate buttercream, then you have something really special.

Method

Just like my mint Aero traybake, it doesn’t last five minutes in my house. It’s just as well it takes less than 10 minutes to make! You can use any combination of dark or milk chocolate that you like, or even make it all milk or all dark chocolate! Just make sure it reaches the total amount of 500g.

Start with softened butter. Use an electric mixer to beat the butter until pale and creamy, then start adding the sugar. I used a mix of sugars for the sponge. You can use all caster sugar or all light brown soft sugar if you prefer. Top tip! If the icing is too soft, pop in the fridge for an hour OR add a little more icing sugar. If too solid, add a tiny bit more boiling water. Melt the white chocolate in a bowl over a pan of barely simmering water (ensuring the water does not touch the bottom of the bowl), then pour over the top of the mixture in the tray. Crush your leftover Maltesers and sprinkle over the top. Leave the whole thing to set in the fridge for three hours or until set.I love an indulgent no-bake chocolate fridge cake, and this easy Malteser tiffin is right up there with the best of them! Start by melting both chocolates, the golden syrup and butter together in a pan on a low heat. Then leave the mixture to cool for 10 minutes. The general advice is to add 2 teaspoons baking powder (a measuring teaspoon, not the kind you stir your coffee with) per every 200g plain or all purpose flour.
