Description

It’s oversized like most UCS sets is not in scale. The original version was much closer in scale - it’s only about three meters longer than an X-wing and they blew up the size for the interior." While the majority of the Razor Crest’s elements are standard fare with boatloads of light grey for the exterior and a smattering of other colors for hidden structural elements. There are fewer odd-colored elements here than in many builds because the majority of the parts are visible in the finished model since the interior is mostly accessible. There are a handful of interesting parts worth noting here, though. Starting off, there’s just one all-new element introduced (not counting Kuiil’s head sculpt that we’ll look at later). The 4×4 tile (part 1751) gets introduced, finally providing an intermediary between the 2×2 and 6×6 tiles. The set includes 19 of them in light bluish-grey.

Some nice internal detailing during the construction of The Razor Crest, including the incredible Boba Fett armour This version has the escape pod (as in the official Lego set), the maintenance crawlspace (from Chapter 12), room for the droid remnants from chapter 10. The Razor Crests’ iconic silhouette, and curves are captured brilliantly here, and this looks like an all-time great LEGO Star Wars UCS set, and a HUGE upgrade to the playset version – 75292 Razor Crest. Please note if you have already built the kit, make sure you know how to disassemble it before buying this MOD. Of course, there are plenty of pictures and descriptions in the PDF to tell you how to achieve them. Enjoy and have fun! But as I knew I would have modifications to do with each new Chapter, I made it module by module to facilitate the process.

Score: 4.5/5

Great details are included such as the holding cells, as well as a carbon-freezing chamber to Din Djarin’s escape pod. Naturally, the set looks great on display, and is set to be a must-buy especially for The Mandalorian and Star Wars UCS fans. The idea of a UCS Razor Crest is definitely something that I can get behind and certainly not out of the realm of possibility for LEGO. The ship has been something of Disney’s flagship vehicle as of late and considering that even Hasbro released a massive version means we could see the iconic likeness recreated in the UCS scale. In any case, it’s not that the Razor Crest is first UCS set to be minifigure scale—both the 75192 UCS Millenium Falcon and 75313 UCS AT-AT were roughly minifigure scale. But both the Falcon is so huge as to be a logistics nightmare to move, relegating it to a table prop rather than a functional vehicle toy. And the AT-AT on its spindly legs suffers much the same fate. The Razor Crest, on the other hand, is quite easy to move around, albeit carefully. The manual includes guidance on how to move it, though unlike some other UCS models (looking at you, AT-AT), I found in practice the model is quite robust and actually needs even less careful handling than the instructions indicate. What you cannot do, though, is make the instinctive move of lifting the model by its armpits, which is to say, beneath the wings. If you do, you won’t damage anything, but you’ll lift the engines and leave the ship behind! Then the show aired and as soon as Chapter One, I had a enough screenshots of this ship to better understand its shape and it's interior. We’ve been holding off on posting this one since it was first rumored earlier this week. Since then there has been some additional intel come out and figured it was better to skeptically share the news rather than avoid altogether. So as far as rumors go, file this one away into the wait and see category as opposed to the sure thing designation like the Landspeeder. Expect to see a launch this fall
