Each section starts with a famous quote, followed by some background info on a subject, which could be anything from Tai-Chi to how laughter helps our cortisol levels decrease. There are no other courses where videos build on each other the way HCMtv does to allow children to go through a journey of self-discovery and deep teachings that will allow them to become a better version of themselves and to thrive. This is why I founded the Happy Confident Company and the Happy Confident Movement, to help develop new programmes and products for children, schools and families that will better prepare them for this new world. My kids have used journals before so didn't do all the exercises that break up the weeks but loved learning about new super powers (power of compassion/introspection etc) and applying them to everyday life. And the consequence of this will be a better world that is more equal, more compassionate and with much happier and confident human beings.

We’re so confident you’ll love our products that we offer a 90 day money back guarantee on all of our products and programmes if you’re not satisfied. I know it might sound a little complicated on paper, but it’s actually very simple and a lovely end of the day activity to encourage your little ones to take part in. There are travel journals, worry journals and activity-packed creative journals to entice those kids who aren’t keen on writing. You’ll be able to watch the programmes via your dashboard, download the accompanying activities and also track your child’s progress.

Our older testers really liked the sturdiness of these journals, which were among the hardiest of the bunch. That using creative thinking will help them tackle things more innovatively and have a fuller and richer experience of life. With a blank page each day for doodling, drawing, sticking, or writing, children may express themselves creatively, and enjoy peaceful decompression time each evening. They will have confidence in themselves, to rise to challenges, to express their feelings, and to learn from their mistakes. Full disclosure: we’ve been fans of this mindfulness/gratitude journal for years, having first purchased it for our children soon after it launched in 2017.

You can choose from lined, plain or dotted for the interior pages, as well as personalising the front cover with up to two lines of text. As an adult, I love looking back at my childhood writing and drawing – it connects me straight back with how I was feeling at the time. However, when used every day your child will find they gain the positive effects delivered from journaling a lot quicker. Doing so enabled me to prepare myself to answer any questions, participate in conversations and notice when the learning was applied. Obviously, I’m a big advocate of affirmations cards, but I also want to bring your attention to their conversation cards too.My family have especially enjoyed using them to spark some fun, bond-building and engaging conversations. If they’re interested in daily journaling, The Happy Confident Me Daily Super Journal explains the same 10 character skills and includes daily journaling pages with questions that follow the same progression through the powers. Although your child may be tempted to view the course all in one go, we would recommend allowing around 1 week between each episode, so that your child can practice the character skill/Power that they have viewed. The Happy Confident Me Daily Journal is ideal for children aged 6-8, or when supervised can be used by children as young as 5.

It shows you how to understand and communicate your feelings; take pride in your achievements; be more positive; and feel gratitude for everyday things. With over 60 highly engaging activities, kids will be helped to understand themselves more, identify their feelings, and learn to let go of fear, anxiety or anger and increase their kindness and compassion towards themselves and others.

Our eight-year-old tester is obsessed with this journal, which taught her about the amygdala and hippocampus, urged her to invent her own mantra and has removable connection cards to encourage listening to others. You will find a section at the beginning that shares the benefits of journaling, the importance of happiness, and also explains how they should use their journal. In less than 10 minutes a day to complete, you and your child will see the positive benefits of daily journaling within 2 weeks. We all know the importance of taking care of your mental health and the earlier that kids learn how to check in with themselves, the more likely they’ll be to take those tools and that understanding into their later lives and become happier and more confident people. Starting a journal is one way kids can process what’s happening around them, writing down their observations, fears, memories and goals.

So, I would say that 7 years old is a realistic and good starting age for the Happy Confident Me Journal. Start each week learning about the new power and enjoying activities to be done alone or with friends or family. It has become really essential to teach them the character skills that they need to better understand themselves, how their brain works, and how to better relate to themselves and to other people so that they are better prepared for this ever-complex world. Presented to be bright and kid-appealing, each life skill is introduced in a simple, attention-grabbing, relatable way.We exist to improve the happiness and confidence of children and families all over the world, believing that emotional intelligence and life skills such as self-belief and resilience need to be developed at home and in schools. These were big feelings coming out, and I knew we had to explore them in a supportive and helpful way. Unlike the other kids’ journals we tested, Papier’s notebooks were the simplest: lovely hardback designs with catchy cover art – think prints of dinosaurs or ladybirds – as well as collaborations with beloved kids’ book characters like Miffy. After lockdown and once the schools re-opened, bedtime in our household became a bit challenging (read: driven to drink nightmare). This spiral-bound journal is slim and portable – it’s flimsier than the other designs we tested, but it’s worth a mention because it works in a rather unique way.
