I have recently had reason to use Hoof Stuff after a foot abscess in another of my horses. Hoof Stuff, even after heavy rain and in mud, kept the hole in my horses foot completely clean and the speed at which the hoof repaired can only be described as amazing! It’s sometimes a job of weighing up pro’s and cons’ trimming a hoof, and its easy to get it wrong if you under-estimate the severity of thrush for example.

I did use Sole Cleanse and Field Paste on the other three hooves while on box rest. Field Paste worked better than Sole Paste imo for box rest. I have used Sole Cleanse and Field Paste ad hoc for years to keep thrush at bay in wet weather (mud)We recommend flushing with Sole Cleansebut anything ‘gentle’ will suffice e.g. salt water, dilute vinegar etc. Avoid flushing with iodine, peroxide, bleaches etc. as these may damage otherwise healthy tissues. All mine have great soles and frogs since using it, definately be buying more I was also surprised how far it goes.” It's not sheared heels, but it is a significant thrush infection (and a very long foot! that is an exceptional amount of growth for 5 weeks)

Field Paste is my “go-to” solution when I’m concerned about my horses hoof health. Good effective product” I think I will try the CleanTrax but I think I will carry on to clean it daily too because I just don't want to take the risk of it getting worse. There are two separate areas for me I suppose. The first is where the shoe came off in the field and took some hoof wall with it. So there's a bit of hoof not touching the floor already and there's a small hole under there. It's quite shallow and I can easily to get in to clean it and squirt it with whatever but given that it's already a little way up from ground level I don't want it to travel any further. I was looking this morning to see if I thought the farrier would be able to cut it away without compromising what's left to stand on and I'm undecided. It's what I would ideally like and on the one hand I think that given that bit of hoof wall has already gone maybe it will be possible. That's obviously up to the farrier to decide though. My horses live out and Silverfeet has been a life saver. It isn't expensive so I'd recommend it to anyone to clear thrush and prevent it. The greasy consistency gives it a bit of an edge over most other products, I like it better than the Field Paste. I love this stuff and use it along with your Sole Cleanse spray to keep my barefoot Paso Fino mare’s hooves in the best condition they can be.”
