Description

In 2014, she made an appearance in the TV series Utopia, as Tess, [18] and in 2015, she appeared in two episodes of Drunk History. Philomena does a marvellous job of narrating and I’d definitely recommend the book if you’d enjoy some humour in your life. I can't pick a favorite entry because there are too many things to cackle about in each and every one. David Bianculli of NPR gave the series a positive review, stating that it has "cult classic potential". Philomena Cunk is one of the greatest thinkers of the 21st century, and in Cunk on Everything she turns her attention to our biggest why are there so many books?

After a while you feel unpleasantly more than sated, as if you've eaten one too many of the really good caramels in the Valentine's Day box. Philomena also has great word play, not just misspellings but using the wrong words in an innocent manner. From the creator and star of the “deeply funny, unexpectedly informative” (The Daily Beast) Netflix mockumentary Cunk on Earth , a helpful guide covering every single topic in the known universe, from Adam and Eve to Top Gun. On Brexit: Sometimes it's good to vote for something you don't understand, because it means we're all equal.Earth is the science name for the world, so it has two names, like Puff Daddy and everything in Wales. She has appeared in several short films, including The Boot Sale, which was shortlisted in the Virgin Media Shorts film competition 2010.

A Christmas special, We Wish You a Mandy Christmas, loosely based on A Christmas Carol, was broadcast in December 2021. Cunk on Earth follows Philomena Cunk, a character created by comedian and actress Diane Morgan, as she explores the history of human civilization, going all the way back to the “beginnings” of humanity, with a comedic bent. Although probably not quite as hilarious as her interviews, there’s still plenty of laughs to be had here regardless. In December 2019, Morgan appeared as Cunk for short episodes of Cunk and Other Humans, once again on BBC Two. Morgan played David Brent's public relations expert in the film David Brent: Life on the Road (2016). It's questions like these that will keep you thinking long after you have finished reading the final page.

This is that book — an encyclopedia of all human knowledge, delving into not only life's greatest mysteries but our most important political figures and cultural touchstones. Though this is the first time the Philomena Cunk character has been on a Netflix series, Diane Morgan has been using the persona for the past decade, appearing on various BBC productions including Charlie Brooker’s Weekly Wipe and Cunk and Other Humans. And probably the best thing since before sliced bread, but we don't know what happened before then, because that was the start of time. I quite enjoyed it, although given how little average people actually know or have interest in humanity's tale, it's a bit cringey to reduce much-needed education to such a circus. With an eye to the future, Cunk concludes the series with a speculative comment on the possibility of AI takeover. Also in 2020, Morgan played Gemma Nerrick in the British mockumentary Death to 2020, created by Charlie Brooker and Annabel Jones. Metacritic, which uses a weighted average, assigned a score of 82 out of 100 based on 8 critics, indicating "universal acclaim". On Rotten Tomatoes, the series has an approval rating of 100% based on 23 reviews and an average rating of 7. Superbly entertaining (and, having seen her on TV, I could imagine a program with each of the descriptions).
