This is Felicita's espresso scale, and it's an impressive-looking little thing, with a look of the (even more expensive) Acaia Lunar, I have even seen some talk of this being a “clone”, and I can see what they mean, although it's a slightly different shape, it is very similar looking, and the manual for this is almost identical to the manual for the Lunar. The good stuff.

It has been designed perfectly to meet the demand of the coffee enthusiast. It monitors the weight, time while you are brewing the coffee. You can also connect the scale with the Acaia App on your smartphone to record your brews and have a look at more parameters. It has transformed the coffee brewing experiences to many users. They offer three scales, this one (Parallel), Arc & Incline. Parallel & Incline were designed with manual brew methods in mind, while Arc is an espresso specialist scale. The good stuff. They are essentially professional coffee espresso scales which is why they are priced at a level above many domestic coffee scales. However, if you’re a lover of design, precision or gadgets then these could be for you. This is a great coffee scale for small/single brew bars or home brewing. Being slightly larger than the Arc, it also serves as a good portafilter/coffee scale next to a café grinder/espresso machine. Key HighlightsThere are also a couple of little details that are pretty cool, like the timer starts automatically when you start to brew, plus you can adjust when the scales turn off when idle (something that does occasionally happen with some scales - which is super annoying halfway through a brew).

This is the reason I've said that I “used to” own these scales. Technically I still do, but they no longer work. I had a little bit of a spill, I wiped the scales, and thought nothing of it – but the next time I went to use them, I turned them on and the weight reading was continually increasing. The Felicita ARC scales are possibly the ultimate and only scale you’ll ever need for taking coffee brewing seriously at home.The price. They're probably around two hundred quid more than the majority of people would consider spending on coffee scales – and some would see the price of these scales as utter lunacy, see what I did there? ;-). But they are made with pricey materials, they're certainly well built, and nothing feels cheap about them. Felicita Incline, has a lithium-ion USB charge which is the same as the ‘Parallel’.. The accessories which are included are ‘removable heat resistant rubber mat’, ‘100g calibration weight’&‘Micro USB charging cable’. Although, you could of course go for rechargeable batteries. My issue with these is that I'm terrible when it comes to losing battery chargers ;-), I've given up buying anything with rechargeable batteries as I'm convinced we have some kind of alien living in the house that survives only from consuming battery chargers! So I prefer to use devices that simply have a charging port on them – yes, this little alien eats them too, but I've usually got one of them somewhere for charging something else, that I can use.
