Description

Some weapons have ‘Blast’ listed in their profile’s abilities. These are referred to as Blast weapons. In addition to the normal rules, the following rules apply to Blast weapons: Acanthrite • Doomstalker • Plasmacyte ( Reanimator • Accelerator) • Reanimator • Scarab • Seraptek • Spyder • Tomb Sentinel • Tomb Stalker • Wraith Another unique benefit to the Heavy Destroyer (ok, well, to ALL Destroyer keyword models, but this article is about Heavy Destroyers) is the re-rolling 1s to wound benefit the Skorpek Lord, or Lokhust Lord, provide to surrounding Heavy Destroyers. With this aura buff Heavy Destroyers are re-rolling 1s to hit AND wound. Throw in the auto wounding Necron stratagem, and the ability to use a Command Re-Roll, to make the Heavy Destroyers some of the most reliable anti-tank shooting in the game!

In addition, if all units from your army are from the same dynasty (excluding DYNASTIC AGENT, C’TAN SHARD and UNALIGNED units), select one command protocol that has not been assigned to a battle round (there will typically only be one). That command protocol is active in every battle round in addition to the one assigned to that battle round – select which directive your units will benefit from at the start of each battle round. Note that if this additional command protocol is the one described in your dynasty’s code, this means both of its directives apply to all units with this ability in your army in every battle round, in addition to the protocol assigned to that battle round. The available command protocols are shown below. Spotted on Imgur, we’ve got a snapshot of how the Canoptek Doomstalker and Lokhust Heavy Destroyer will play. These models first appeared on the army-wide picture showcasing all of the Necron support that’s coming. Let’s go over the details on each one. If you activate a card’s unearth ability but that card is removed from your graveyard before the ability resolves, that unearth ability will resolve and do nothing. Unearth grants haste to the permanent that’s returned to the battlefield. However, neither of the “exile” abilities is granted to that permanent. If that creature loses all its abilities, it will still be exiled at the beginning of the end step, and if it would leave the battlefield, it is still exiled instead. You then make a Charge roll for the charging unit by rolling 2D6. The result is the maximum number of inches each model in that unit can be moved if a Charge move is possible. For a Charge move to be possible, the Charge roll must be sufficient to enable the charging unit to end that move:Picture the Lokhust Heavy Destroyer as the vanguard of your annihilative force, designed to carve through infantry and effortlessly dismantle even the mightiest enemy tanks. Operating seamlessly within a Destroyer unit or standing strong as a standalone asset, this fleet-footed gun platform elevates your army’s firepower to new heights. Can only set up within Engagement Range of enemy units that are already within Engagement Range of the Reanimated model's unit. What’s more, the damage output of Destroyer units is even more consistent when in range of their alphas – the fallen nobles that are Skorpekh Lords and Lokhust Lords – thanks to the United in Destruction aura ability. It’s surprisingly fast with a 10″ Move while also having 12 Wounds and a 5++ invuln. The weakest point about the model is that it’s only hitting on a 4+(thankfully that never changes as it degrades). With that said, it’s got two main profiles to use for shooting, however, the anti-tank high power version of the doomsday blaster can only be used if you stood still. Being that it’s a 48″ range cannon, there shouldn’t be many issues. The twin gauss flayer is just for some added dakka but obviously not the real reason why you’d take the unit Chronomancer ( Orikan the Diviner) • Plasmancer • Psychomancer • Technomancer ( Illuminor Szeras) • Apprentek

Destroyer Sub-cults

In the current meta the weapon choice is clear in the Gauss Destructor. A single shot feels like a risk, but with the ability to ignore the penalty of moving and shooting a heavy weapon, the ability to re-roll their ones to hit, and the Necron stratagem to automatically wound a target the Gauss Destructor is an excellent answer to two specific threats in the current meta. Both Admech Ironstriders and Drukhari Raiders want nothing to do with an accurate S10 AP4 3d3 damage gun. While Heavy Destroyers aren’t shooting these down on a one for one basis the 60 points price tag allows multiple Heavy Destroyers to gang up on opponents key targets during a game. They key is to gang up on these key targets while staying out of line of sight of the other juicy Heavy Destroyer targets. Which, admittedly, can be tough. Apply Tesseract Glow to the glowing energy sources, such as the Gauss destructor or the goggles on the Lokhust Heavy Destroyer. This paint creates the illusion of luminous energy, lending a dynamic and eye-catching element to your model. In battle, the brutal efficiency of Destroyers more than compensates for their habitual insubordination. Many Necron Lords and Nemesors build campaigns around the actions of Destroyers, rather than making doomed attempts to enforce their own plan on the twisted warriors. So long as a Destroyer knows that there are other forms of life, it will direct its baleful attention upon their destruction. Once the enemy is destroyed, Destroyers pay little heed to their allies.
