Description

We've renamed this review as the Pulsar X2 to better match the advertised product name. The review has been updated to reflect this change. You can use the spudger or knife on its own without using the hairdryer, especially if you're unsure of how long to heat the feet up by. This may leave traces of glue on the bottom of the mouse however, which will need to be removed before attaching the new mouse feet. Preface: With the release of the Red and FE Green colorways of the X2 and X2 mini right around the corner and the “GOATS” variations around the other corner, I wanted to share my thoughts on the mice that many people seem to be weary of due to QC issues. I will only talk about the quality and performance of my units. Something that really impressed me about the Xlite Wireless V2 was its build quality, and the same goes for the Mini version. A mouse that’s this light can often feel flimsy in some areas but that isn’t the case here at all. Of course that bottom plate isn’t the sturdiest plate around, and you canget it to flex a little bit if you apply pressure in some areas (even though I was surprised at how well it held up even when applying abnormal amounts of pressure) but this is no issue at all when using the mouse normally. Shaking the mouse did not reveal any issues. The build quality is once again very impressive.

The scroll wheel is almost completely quiet and has subtle steps, so if you’re looking for a very tactile wheel this probably won’t please you, but for the vast majority of gamers I see this being completely fine. Build Quality and Cable Once you have removed all the old skates from the base your mouse, give the surface a clean by using rubbing alcohol (Isopropyl). This will remove any excess adhesive that may still be present. Leave the mouse to dry, and then it's time to apply the new ones. Be careful when using the hairdryer too, as you want to avoid overheating the mouse, which can cause damage to your mouse (plastic melting or warping) and also cause injury to yourself, so proceed with caution.

Guides

You can either use it wirelessly or wired without the lag. Using the latest MCU and algorithm, it provides wire-free, consistent connectivity with a stable 1 ms report rate. Combining with Pixart’s flagship low-power sensor, it also allows the mouse to have an outstanding 70 hours battery life. Comes with the next generation receiver and receiver 2.4Ghz adapter. We've added a link to the newly-reviewed HyperX Pulsefire Haste 2 Wireless in the Wireless Versatility section of this review. Something that I absolutely love here is that Pulsar doesn’t overcomplicate things. All too often, brands that come out with mini versions of their popular mice downgrade the sensor or make other adjustments that change the mouse from being a straightforward shrunken version of the bigger version to something quite different. Here, that’s not the case. The specs on the Pulsar Xlite Wireless V2 Mini (I will sometimes refer to it as the ‘V2 Mini’) are the exact same as what you’ll find on the regular version, so you don’t need to worry about this being a downgrade in any way, shape, or form. The wireless implementation on the mouse is just as good as a wired mouse in terms of latency/ delay/ lag. In my use cases, the mouse does not seem to have any connectivity issues with the receiver located at the top end of my mousepad. Since it is a wireless mouse it has a battery rated at 70 hours and despite there being mice advertised with much longer battery lives, I don’t think its an issue that the X2 Mini is only rated at 70 hours. I only charge it when I remember to and haven’t experienced it dying on me mid game since the side dpi button flashed red when it is close to death. The side buttons still feel mushy and pretty cheap, and while there is no noticeable pre- or post travel these can still be improved by a lot.

Despite its light weight of 52g, the Pulsar X2 Mini feels very solid in my hand. There is no rattle heard when shaking the mouse horizontally, but I do hear slight rattling when shaking it up/down. When applying pressure on the shell of the mouse, I don’t hear any creaking of the plastic.

Xlite

Simple but not simpler.” We kept this in mind all the time when we designed X2 structure. We designed a structure as simple as possible but maintained its durability. In the result, you are getting high performance gaming mouse that is lighter than the egg in your hand. Finally, once the grip tape is properly applied, use a sharp hobby knife or scissors to trim any excess grip tape from around the edges of your mouse. Trimming the edges gives your mouse a clean and finished look. This method involves using the hairdryer to heat up the glue underneath the mouse feet. Once the glue has been heated long enough, use a spudger (a flat plastic tool with a sharp end) or a knife to scrape underneath the feet to peel them off — be careful if using a knife! Once you have your replacement mouse skates in hand, it's now time to remove your old ones from the base of the mouse. There are a few different methods to do this, but we’ll cover the main, most reliable method (in our opinion):

Precisely adjust everything with our Software. Re-assign keys, make macros, adjust debounce time as low as 2ms and more. Pulsar X2 Mini has a smooth matte surface that is consistent across the entire shell. I would say that there is some amount of coating to it, but it will instantly feel minimal if your hands starts to sweat. The surface is easy to clean and does not leave fingerprints lingering. I’d recommend getting a grip tape (unfortunately not included in the box) for better grip when gaming. Shape and fit As I said before, there are no holes on the sides of this mouse. Pulsar has removed those because a lot of people dislike the feeling those holes give you while gripping the mouse, so it’s a logical design choice, but just as with the regular sized Xlite V2 there are still some holes near the top of the shell. With this being a smaller mouse I personally still feel the holes on both sides when gripping the mouse normally. On the regular version I don’t feel them with my thumb, but here I do due to the shorter length (and overall size) of the Mini, so for me the solid portions on the sides of this mouse are a bit useless, but that might just mean that my hands are too big for this mouse. Still, it’s something to note if you dislike the feeling of holes. The sensor is a PixArt PAW3395 sensor which I do not think matters as much as people want it to. As a low sensitivity player (52cm/360) I have found no issues using this mouse at a polling rate of 1000hz on a variety of mousepads in a plethora of games and even though it has motion sync, I also do not think it matters all that much. I have used the mouse with it enabled ever since Pulsar updated their firmware. I won’t talk about the firmware since it is not something that is needed to use this mouse.

INDIRECT WHEEL CLICKS

Being smaller than the regular Xlite Wireless V2, it is only logical that the V2 Mini weighs less as well. I weighed it in at 55 grams, which is extremely light for a gaming mouse. Just as with the regular version, there are no holes on the sides of the V2 Mini. First came the fire and then the wheel. Humans have on several occasions in history changed the way we live our lives, and the way we see the world. Now it has happened again, Pulsar launches their new mouse X2 and X2 Mini!

With a little preparation and some simple steps, you can enjoy better control and performance like the pros. We've converted this review to Test Bench 1.5. This update adds a new Main Button test group, which provides button actuation data and switch information. We've also made minor changes to how we calculate the Office usage score. For more details, you can see our full changelog here. Ultralight weight below 60grams without the perforation. Equipped with the latest flagship 26K sensor. Lag-free 2.4Hz wireless technology. Shape that is delightfully comfortable.I also like how the main buttons have slight grooves to provide a nicer resting spot for your fingers. And the button placement of the Pulsar X2 Mini are also lower than other mice that I’ve tried. This also makes it a more comfortable experience especially for claw grip as your fingers won’t be curled up too much. We've added a link to the newly-reviewed HyperX Pulsefire Haste 2 in the Sensor Specifications section of this review. As for battery life, the Pulsar X2 Mini is rated at 70 hours per full charge. I got about 2-3 weeks of use before seeing the battery indicator flash red. Conclusion Before applying the grip tape, it is essential to clean your mouse to remove any dirt or oils that may interfere with the grip tape's adhesion. Use a soft cloth and rubbing alcohol to gently clean the surface of your mouse, taking care not to damage the coating. Make sure to remove all the dirt and oil residues, especially around the edges of your mouse. The implementation of the 3370 sensor that’s inside of the V2 Mini has been done perfectly. There are no signs of sensor malfunction on my unit, and the wireless experience is also very, very good. The mouse can sometimes be a bit slow to wake up from inactivity if your receiver is a bit too far away from the mouse itself, so I would recommend using the extension piece so that you can place it as close to your pad as possible.
