Their first meeting didn't go well when he mistakes her for being the housekeeper! It sort of sets the tone of his characters and shows how out of touch with the real world and everyday life he really is. I am a huge fan of Christie’s Love Heart Lane series and I think this might be my favourite book in the series so far. It has the perfect combination of escapist setting, romantic tension, relatable characters and touching, emotional moments that make the ideal romantic read.

Don't forget Grace's fantastic long-lost friends who come to her rescue when she needs them the most. That’s not to say that the romance isn’t important. Andrew is a great love interest for Grace, but the romance is secondary to the other bonds Grace rediscovers in this book, and that is the way it should be. Romantic relationships are not the be all and end all of life, all our relationships support and nurture us in different and equally important ways. Grace has inherited her late grandad's castle and she feels a glimmer of hope for the future. The castle in the past was her home and held many good memories but was overshadowed by the last conversation with her grandad. Arriving at the castle Grace is dismayed to find it in need of some serious tlc bringing further worries and hurdles for her to overcome. Apologies to everyone for the late posting of this review but I am delighted to finally be sharing my review of Heartcross Castle,the latest book in the Love Heart Lane series by Christie Barlow. Apologies again for the delay in posting and thanks for your understanding.Of course the setting is always a big draw in the Love Heart Lane books and, getting to explore inside the walls of Heartcross Castle was great fun. Christie has let her imagination run wild in the novel and has added all the fun quirks and secrets you would wish for in a Scottish castle. When I read things like this, it reminds me of the aspect of writing which most appeals to me, being able to create the world as you wish it existed, just because it makes you and your readers happy. This is what true escapism is, and escapist reading is sometimes just what we all need.

Devastated to have got it so wrong, Andrew will do anything to make it up to her – but is she willing to listen? The relationships in this book are what make it, and they are all beautiful. Grace and her boys, her old friends, and particularly that between Grace and Hector. Their interactions brought me to the verge of tears several times because the way they interacted was just so lovely. I love a book which explores relationships of all kinds, not just romantic ones, and this is where the people who are dismissive of romance novels are mistaken. There is always so much more going on in these books than a love story, and this book is a prime example of the complexity of issues that can be explored.Individuals who want a meaningful memorial tattoo should consider this beautiful quote. Dealing with loss is incredibly painful, and some people find it comforting to memorialize those they love by getting something special tattooed on their bodies. The words are often accompanied by images of birds and feathers, signifying how the person has flown away. It can also represent weightlessness and freedom, focusing on how the individual is no longer tied down by earthly things. If you wish to make the piece more unique, names and birth and death dates can be added to the design. One of the many benefits of heart tattoos is that there is a large variety of styles to choose from, and the sacred heart symbol is for those who are profoundly religious and want to honor their faith. The design has links to both the Christian and Catholic denominations and is believed to represent Jesus Christ’s unwavering love for humankind. It also symbolizes an individual’s dedication to their beliefs and is a way to show their devotion. There are several common elements of this tattoo; these include a crown or halo, across at the top of the design, and often thorns encompassing the heart. As the story progresses we get to truly see who Grace is away from her awful ex. As she travels to Heartcross we get to find out more about her past as well as see what her friendships are like through her childhood best friends Felicity, Allie and Isla. I have read and loved every one of the books in this series, they can be read as stand-alone as they are a story in their own right. What you will miss out on is how the community has been connected, brought together and developed with each book. She’d arrived a naive sixteen year old and had fallen in love with a man she thought would protect her against all odds - and hadn’t. That life was gone and the second she stepped on the train, she felt relief. After all these years, Grace Power was on her way home.’

Is a standard heart shape not to your liking? Why not try something different by choosing a piece that is more realistic? Although most drawings are focused around the simple heart-shaped image, the anatomical design is a fantastic alternative. This tattoo adds a level of realism and requires a much more detailed depiction of the human heart. Great vessels of the heart

Christie Barlow has already created so many wonderful characters, and it was lovely to revisit a number of them as they formed part of Grace’s friendship group. That said, the introduction of Hector, Heartcross Castle’s groundskeeper, was a very special element. I could immediately picture him pottering around the gardens. This was such a welcome return to Heartcross and also for our main character Grace it was exactly what she needed the most. Grace has never even learned to drive, so her arrival at the Castle is after an overnight train journey. Andrew, on the other hand, has access to a fleet of vehicles, including a light aircraft. When Christie isn't writing she enjoys playing the piano, is a keen gardener and loves to paint and upcycle furniture.

Grace left Heartcross 10 years ago following a heated argument with her Grandad. Over the last decade Grace's life has changed drastically and she is still carrying the physical and emotional scars of a disastrous relationship. Even though she's now the mother of three boys she has never felt so alone. When she hears of the sad passing of her grandad she understands that this is the escape she needs for her and her boys and it's now time to go home. Whilst this is number 7 in the series, the book can certainly be read as a standalone novel, as I have done. Although, I enjoyed it very much and fully intend to read the earlier books in the series now. Of course, this is romantic fiction, so there needs to be a strong love interest. In this instance, we are introduced to Andrew Glossop, a celebrity chef who has lost touch with the tastes of the average consumer. Of course, their initial meeting doesn’t go smoothly as he mistakes Grace for his new housekeeper. There is something feminine and elegant about a heart and rose tattoo, especially when it is a petite design. The combination of these two symbols often represents passion and intense love. The rose is a flower that symbolizes romance and friendship and is usually completed in bold red ink. There are many different interpretations of this design; it could be simple and dainty or have a more gothic element to it.
