Description

The HexDrain Corner Unit can be installed at any location within a channel run, you may want to install just one as an outlet or multiple units for rainwater downpipes. Their extensive product portfolio offers market leading and high-performance solutions for every drainage application from internal and building drainage, to landscaping, commercial projects, highways, airports and even environmentally sensitive drainage systems. ACO DoorWay drain is very similar to ACO Threshold drain except it’s wider and so will be more effective at preventing water from running into a property. If your entry pathway is at a slight slope running toward the house, it may be worth installing ACO DoorWay drain to prevent any water ingress. ACO Threshold drain is a slim plastic and aluminium channel which has been designed for entryways to domestic properties. Its slimline design allows the channel to be discrete and stylish without compromising on function. ACO Threshold will stop water from ponding at the entrance to a home. It’s advised that this ACO channel drain is used at the door threshold but not in the doorway. For drainage at the doorway, to prevent water from coming into the property, use ACO DoorWay drain as detailed below. Because channels tends to be less deep than other systems it is particularly well suited when constructing drainage in areas with complex underground services and utilities. For this reason the term linear is used to emphasise the surface nature of channel drainage Trench drain

ACO HexDrain is a plastic A15 load class channel drain built from recycled polypropylene for high strength and high durability. Designed with 8 possible outlet positions, this unique A15 channel drain can be used in domestic drainage projects such as along garage thresholds, landscaping projects and a range of DIY garden and patio applications. Both the ACO HexDrain base and grate come in 1m lengths and the base has markings at 500mm for easy cutting and measuring. The system is suitable for use in a wide range of applications including commercial and residential developments, pedestrian precincts, landscaping and parking areas for all vehicle types. The channel unit is manufactured from Vienite, ACO’s high strength polymer concrete and forms the main component of the system. If the manufacturer does not provide quad connectors, then you will need to cut where the two pieces will connect on the corner to make one. The corner sections will need to be made with joints so that an angle of 90° can be made. ACO RainDrain is another ACO drainage application favourite. Having specially developed a lightweight concrete, Vienite, using recycled polymer, ACO can offer RainDrain as a fantastic option for domestic drainage. The strong, stable base is a great foundation for the galvanised steel grating that comes with ACO RainDrain. The patina finish is being seen more and more in high-end garden and landscape projects, with products from planters to walls being offered by a range of manufacturers, the finish can enhance a space and textures felt and seen within it.This is the generic term for linear systems that incorporate a channel together with an inlet detail that is embedded in the constructed surface. ACO DoorWay drain slots underneath the doorway at the point of installation meaning that the door frame doesn't need to be cut or altered. The channel is longer than it is wide with a cross sectional dimension design to contain the flow from the associated surface surrounding the installation. The channel body can bemanufactured from Polymer Concrete, Plastic or Steel.

The method of installation is essentially the same, but the placement of the corner pieces will be key. The plastic grating with microgrip offers a non-slip cover for drainage systems around the house. In addition to the tried-and-tested nub structure, the grating is equipped with many tiny bumps that ensure surefootedness even in high humidity. The structure is moulded directly into the grate surface and is therefore particularly durable. The plastic grating retains its non-slip properties even after heavy use by being run over by a car. Features & Benefits: ACO Hexdrain Plastic Channel Drain A15 with Microgrip - 1mThere are two main ways to create a corner channel drain. Whether that corner may be a standard “L” shape, “T” shape or any other corner type, you can manufacture the drain to suit specific standards. Strong and robust V shaped channel design with a range of constant, sloped and shallow depth channels Through this guide, you will be able to learn about how to install a corner channel drain and ensure the long-term function of the system. Channel drains are typically structural formers that are integral to the performance of the system but may or may not be load bearing without the required surround detail.

Use an outlet to connect this grating to the underground drainage of the property and this ACO channel drain will function without you ever knowing it’s there. ACO DoorWay DrainAs a guide, 1:100 type fall can be suitable for smooth drainage fittings. Step: 6: Fitting the short end More advanced forms of slot systems like the ACO Qmax although not load bearing in their own right, are formers that facilitate the construction of a ‘non-interrupted’ pavement. Line (or, Linear) drain As with previous drain pieces, clean and fit the connection piece. This is followed by the short section and the end, then finally placing the end cap onto the corner unit. Strong and light weight design, with male and female channel connections to aid accurate installation

The corner unit is supplied with 4 x solid sides, any of these can be removed to allow rainwater to flow into or through the corner unit. To form a 90° angle you simply cut out the two relevant side sections and clip the HexDrain channel to the corner unit, for a watertight connection please use a suitable sealant. One method involves simply cutting the straight pieces to accommodate the corners and one uses a quad section. The following will explain each of these two methods and how you can use them in your channel drain structure. Method 1: The quad system The corner drain has been placed and you are ready to begin marking. Mark with a pencil or sharp marking point where each drain piece will need to be cut to ensure the corner unit fits into place. Step 3: Cutting the drain parts Following the cutting process, you can now place the connection piece into position and join the units together. This can be done in the same way as you would do a standard channel drain unit. Slide the unit into the clean connection piece and then gently tap it into place using a mallet or similar hammering-type tool. A quad section can be one of the easier ways to install a corner channel drain. Many ranges already have these available to fit alongside their standard line channel drain parts. Not only can they be placed without the need to cut to a specific size, but come in a wide variety of sizes to suit the channel drain you’re installing.

By removing the internal base of the corner unit you can connect vertically directly onto 110mm diameter PVC-U underground pipe. Most significantly ACO RoadDrain carries the BSI Kitemark which ensures that the recycled materials and the process used to manufacture it, produce consistently high quality BS EN 1433: 2002 marked product. The product is also fully compliant with national highways and transport agencies (UK) and National Roads Authority (ROI) requirements for motorway and major trunk roads. Where you have marked the first line drain piece, use a cut-off saw, angle grinder or hand-saw to cut off the spare drain length. This will allow the corner unit to be accommodated following the cutting process. Ensure this is accurate and, as with the line of the channel drain, ensure any debris has been removed before installation to reduce the risk of leaks. Step 4: Connecting the parts
