I love the concept of these small self-contained diorama sets, and would love to see LEGO do more of these as they look great on display while not compromising on playability with all the accessories. The set doesn’t look like much from the outside, and we’d have to wonder why anyone would display it this way when all the details are on the inside. That said, the messy mix of materials isn’t actually out of place for the buildings in New Asgard. As part of a second wave of “The Infinity Saga” sets (though released simultaneously in the US), everyone’s favourite Asgardian – not counting Loki because he’s a Frost Giant – has returned in his post-Blip form for new set Bro Thor’s New Asgard, a wonderfully detailed LEGO rendition of Thor’s Endgame Norwegian hangout.

This is going to be one of the most-popular and best-selling Marvel sets of 2021 as it strikes the perfect balance between accessibility due to its size and price, and also the inclusion of fan favourite characters like Korg. The playset measures over 3 in. (8 cm) high, 4.5 in. (12 cm) wide and 4.5 in. (12 cm) deep and combines with other LEGO Marvel building kits for even more fun.LEGO components are dropped, heated, crushed, twisted and analysed to make sure they fulfil rigorous global safety standards.

Like any Marvel set, the characters are truly the star of the set, and Bro Thor’s New Asgard comes with 2 exclusive minifigures – Bro Thor, with his beer belly, and the debut of the Korg minifigure which has been a long time coming.

Will end this review with a match-made-in-heaven mashup of Bro Thor and Korg, hanging out in Joey and Chandler’s apartment! These delightful characters maintain notable popularity and the minifigures appear impressive.

Thor's messy home contains numerous intriguing curios and the model undoubtedly captures this chaotic environment. The balance between earthy shades and more vibrant colours looks superb and I think its size seems reasonable, comfortably accommodating the minifigures and various significant details which are present during the movie.

Since 2019, LEGO has launched multiple waves of Avengers branded LEGO sets tied to Endgame, there were two waves of direct movie tie-ins, as well as this year’s first wave of “The Infinity Saga” sub-theme, and yet Bro Thor (the topless overweight God of Thunder), Korg and Miek were nowhere to be seen, a travesty given how great that part of the movie is. Another nice nod on the fireplace is the sailboat which was actually present on the fireplace in the scene. Finally, Miek’s body, which is composed of two flower pieces, looks like a bit of a weak attempt – but the only other solution would be a new moulded piece, which can hardly be expected when the set already includes a new piece for another minor character. Additional items include a decorative pitchfork and a model sailing boat, both of which appear onscreen and demonstrate brilliant attention to detail. The keg situated beside the door is also interesting because this features two trans-yellow 1x1 round plates, presumably depicting beer and seemingly contradicting LEGO's long-standing policy concerning alcohol. Overall, Bro Thor’s New Asgard is an incredible set for it’s price-range and pieces number, you get a lot of fantastic design for your money with this one.This set comes with three exclusive minifigures. (Well, two minifigures and a head.) We get shirtless “Bro Thor”, video game enthusiast Korg, and tiny purple bug friend Miek.
