Description

Another possible con for some, there is no onboard memory. Profiles and customizations are created and saved using Razer's Synapse software. Great timing! I just got mine in the mail yesterday! It seems to be a nice little keyboard. Feels very well made, and looks great too. Just what I wanted. I am very happy with it. You say there is no per-key RGB customization, but that is incorrect. You can customize each key. I did so on mine. Not sure what all else you can do with the software, haven't had time to play with it much. Plus, this is my first Razer keyboard.

I just wanted to post this here to try and help others who are having an issue with some of the keys double-registering. Yes, it's true, we shouldn't have this issue on a brand new keyboard, and why it was released like this, is beyond me. However, not everyone has this issue, but a lot do, and I'd like to help you fix it. And thankfully, it's really an easy fix. Updating the firmware doesn't take long at all. And yes, it does fix the double-registering issue. I had the same issue with mine, after updating the firmware, everything has been working perfectly!

Device Layout

Then, we’ve also got an aluminum top plate which is military-grade, so there’s practically no flex to the keyboard whatsoever, and it is perfectly durable and strong in terms of build quality. In my opinion, the keycaps could’ve been PBT, but other than that, we’ve got potential with the legend imprints, and you can also put your custom keycaps on here if you want. Razer Green Mechanical Switches N-key Rollover – This keyboard comes with many amazing features, including anti-ghosting or N-key rollover, which allow all the keys to be pressed and registered at the same time without a problem. Overall, it may look like a plain TKL keyboard at first glance. Like most Razer keyboards however, it only truly comes to life when you plug it in as the Razer Chroma RGB gets activated.

ABS keycaps – One thing I wasn’t thrilled with was the keycaps. The material of the keycaps is ABS which is not as great in texture and feel as PBT plastic material.RGB Customization – The RGB lighting is quite bright and vibrant and comes with many patterns and lighting zones that can be changed and customized according to the user’s requirement. I do wish the keyboard had onboard storage to save my profiles, instead of being software dependent, but I knew this before buying it, so it's not that big of a deal to me. The linear Razer Yellow switches change that to 45g, 1.2mm and 0mm with a total travel distance of 3.5mm. All of Razer’s mechanical switches are said to have life spans of up to 80 million keystrokes. EU Declaration of Conformity for Abyssus Lite & Goliathus Mobile Construct Ed. Bundle (RZ83-0273).pdf

The USB cable here is non-detachable and doesn’t come with Razer Speedflex. However, it does have a cable routing which will allow for a cleaner setup as it’s easier for cable management. The bad news is that the keyboard doesn’t feature onboard storage; changes are only saved in Razer Synapse. There’s no per-key RGB customization either. At this point it’s strange to encounter a gaming keyboard with such limitations; most companies have erred on the side of too many customization options rather than too few. Bottom LineOur fingertips didn't slide from the doubleshot ABS keycaps, it was comfortable to hover like a claw over that all-important WASD cluster and it didn't take us any time to adapt to the layout when we needed to reach additional keys. We missed having an identifier on the "W" key, like what you'' find on the Roccat Vulcan TKL Pro, but aside from that, Razer's offering was pretty standard on the gaming keyboard front. It didn't make us any better, nor it didn't make us any worse. How much this matters will depend on the games you like to play. Tactical shooters like Valorant and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive reward low in-game sensitivities, which means having a spacious, ergonomic setup is vital. Games that don't require precise aim can make do with a smaller area of the desk. That isn't to say ergonomics should ever be overlooked — everyone should try to make their setups as comfortable as possible — but it does mean space is relative. This customization also extends to the volume knob and media buttons mentioned earlier. Those descriptions apply to the inputs' default functions, but Synapse 3 can be used to customize the "multi-function roller wheel" to serve a variety of purposes, while the button next to it can be programmed just like any other key on the keyboard. Razer's software also includes the Razer Hypershift feature that allows every key to perform a secondary function--such as launching apps or running a macro--while a designated Hypershift key is held down. Note that the keyboard also allows for on-the-fly macro recording.

We've converted this review to Test Bench 1.3, which overhauls how key input is evaluated. We've added new tests for Single Key Latency, Multi Key Latency, Data Transmission, and Chord Split. We've also introduced a new Raw Performance usage and adjusted how the Gaming and Office usage scores are calculated. You can see the full changelog here. Programming Macros – When it comes to remapping the keyboard’s keys and changing the layout, you have all the options of programmability available to choose from and change. With Razer Synapse, you can toggle Gaming Mode; set Gaming Mode to disable the Windows key, Alt + Tab and Alt + F4; change the RGB’s brightness; decide if the keyboard should turn off when a display is turned off or after a certain amount of idle time; or select one of 11 preconfigured RGB effects or customize the keyboard's per-key RGB capabilities. We’ve seen the incredible feature set that this keyboard comes with, but what does it have to showcase when it comes to pros and cons. Before you buy it, make sure you know what you’re getting into. Let’s take a look. Pros But this is where the inclusion of a number pad becomes more divisive. TKL keyboards have become increasingly popular, in part because people who play first-person shooters, action games and other genres that don't rely on that cluster of keys want as much room as possible for their best gaming mouse and mousepad.
