It reminds me of pine a bit, so I’m enjoying that green note during some Xmas dinners but this one is not for the faint of heart. The opening is fresh but there’s an underlying spiciness to it - I don’t want to use the word smoke because that would turn people off. I can smell 50% pink pepper for several hours and it's disturbing me if I need to concentrate, even if I just use 1-2 sprays.

I have high hopes for this, to be the equivalent of my fellow little companion, YSL Parisienne and it’s flankers, since I adore anything rose, especially if it’s leaning darker. But if you are looking for the same yummy fruitiness that is in because it’s you by Armani, then you might like this better because it lasts longer and it’s pleasant and pretty instead of a headache inducing mess that is because it’s you. I read that they changed the formula and that it's not as intense as it used to be but I hope this is not true. Memorable campaign aside, Trésor Midnight Rose is a pretty decent floral fruity, well-blended with an interesting combination of ingredients. The flaçon is elegantly designed in dark violet with a small, colour co-ordinated rose petal around the neck. I wish they would make more treaures like Poeme but everything else I try from this brand just falls flat.
