Founded by two brothers-in-law in 1982 in a dilapidated cowshed, is based in the Belgian Ardennes, although they have moved out of the cowshed. Cherry Chouffe brings all the joy and taste of a Chouffe together with the fruitiness of the cherry.

With the exception of their fantastic Oud Kriek, their beers are sweeter than the others' and full of a sherberty sweetness that makes most of them fantastic dessert beers. Achouffe is a nod to the local village and as for the gnome on their bottles – well, that was a flash of inspiration by brewer Chris.The Oude Kriek Oud Beerseel owes its incredible taste to a triple fermentation process and the addition of 400 grams of fine cherries per litre. There it is blended with pure organic cherry, strawberry, raspberry or apricot fruit juices and more organic beer to create fruit beers of considerable strength and flavour. A round bodied, soft and delicate fruit beer, Cherry Chouffe combines the aroma of cherries with notes of almond, strawberry, spices and sweet port for a satisfying finish. For this beer, cherries are then added to give the beer a pleasant and full fruity sweetness that offsets the sour base before a pleasing and refreshing tart finish. Brasserie d’Achouffe Cherry Belgian Fruit Beer is collectively packed in a safe and sturdy Beerhunter branded box.

Sour Morello Cherries from Kent were delivered to us fresh and added to a nine month old foudre aged saison.
