Description

Harnessing powerful antioxidants and phytonutrients from cold-pressed plant extracts, Youth To The People combines superfoods and science to keep your skin youthful and vibrant. But what exactly are antioxidants? And how do they benefit your skin? The most buzzed-about product by this brand is definitely the Youth to The People Superfood Cleanser. They call it a “green juice cleanse for your face” because of the inclusion of superfoods like kale, spinach, green tea, and alfalfa. Kale is rich in skin-loving phytonutrients and vitamins C, E, and K. Spinach has the ability to soothe the skin while adding hydration. Green tea contains the polyphenol EGCG, which has anti-inflammatory properties and has also been shown to decrease oxidative stress. Alfalfa contains flavonoid antioxidants that protect against free radicals. I’ll admit, I prefer face oils to face creams. But fall is here, so I welcomed this transitional weather moisturizer. Made with the same superfoods as the cleanser, I had high hopes. Plus, like every other beauty editor, I can never stop gushing about the miracle that is hyaluronic acid. And, not to judge a cream by its cover, but the name “air-whip moisturizer” sounds delectable.

And a similar review says, “I bought this product because it is raved about and was prepared to love it. After using this stinky product, my skin was very red and dry. If you like a lot of fragrance and have very oily skin this might be for you. I was prepared to love this company but this was very disappointing.” Our VerdictYes! I was happy to read that Youth to the People only includes cruelty-free ingredients in its formulas. Is YTTP vegan? The Youth to The People collection consists of cleansers, toners, exfoliants, serums, creams, and more. Here’s a breakdown of the top 10 best Youth to The People skincare products. The Youth to The People vitamin C serum offers a 15% blend of three vitamin C derivatives (3-O-Ethyl Ascorbic Acid, Tetrahexyldecyl Ascorbate, and Magnesium Ascorbyl Phosphate). The formula also includes plant-derived caffeine from superleafs yerba mate and guayusa to immediately brighten, enhance circulation, and visibly reduce morning puffiness. Antioxidants donate electrons to free radicals. Free radicals only have one unpaired electron, which makes the free radical unstable and highly reactive. In an attempt to become more stable, free radicals will either donate their single electron to another molecule or accept an electron from another molecule.

But if it’s not broke, don’t fix it. While this set was solid, the only products I’m keeping in constant rotation are the Superfood Cleanser and the Vitamin C Caffeine Serum. The cleanser is a nourishing and replenishing addition to my harsh lineup of products that fills a gap in my arsenal. The serum is the most truly innovative and effective product of the set, making it the standout among the others. Founders Joe Cloyes and Greg Gonzales started Youth to the People in 2015. With their grandmother, mother, and aunt all serving as veterans in the beauty industry, it seems that the interest in skincare runs in the family, the two carrying on what so clearly runs in their blood. One of my favorite things I discovered during this Youth to the People skincare review? 100% of the brand’s ingredients are vegan. How do you use Youth to the People?

You’ve probably heard of juice cleansing as a fad diet to lose weight and detoxify the body. What you probably haven’t heard of, however, is a juice cleanse for your skin. By taking antioxidant rich superfoods and incorporating them into clean, natural skincare products, Youth to the People has essentially created a juice cleanse for your skin. I’ll put it plainly: this product is not for the faint of heart. Unfortunately for my skin, I am not the faint of heart. This yerba mate facial has all the elements that call to me. Chemical exfoliation with enzyme power, the previously-established caffeine I can’t resist, and my ultimate downfall: physical exfoliation.

While the Youth to The People Cleanser sounds amazing in theory, keep in mind that this is a rinse-off product. That means the antioxidants in these superfood extracts really can’t provide protection against environmental free radicals if they are being washed off of your face! The true key ingredients in the Youth to The People Cleanser are coconut-derived surfactants, which help to remove excess oil, makeup, dirt, and other impurities. Founded by Greg Gonzalez and Joe Cloyes, Youth To The People pays homage to the high-performance skin care philosophy that began in California more than 40 years ago with their grandmother, Eva – a pioneer in professional-grade formulas. Equally passionate about products as she was about helping woman become entrepreneurs, Eva opened up the US’s first advance institute for professional skin care treatments. With over 40 years of family history in professional aesthetics, the brand’s formulas are powered to deliver professional results at home. And another very positive review for the Youth to The People cleanser says, “I really enjoy this cleanser. A little bit goes a long way. Fresh and earthy scent. Doesn’t bother my allergies. Cleans well and doesn’t leave my skin dry afterwards. Though pricey for a facial cleanser, it is WELL worth it.” I’ll explain. First of all, this product hurts to use. Maybe I was going too hard, but my first thought was: ouch. Never a good sign. I eventually started mixing it with the Superfood Cleanser for a more gentle scrub, but the texture was hard to get past. I looked forward to washing it off. And when I did, it revealed super smooth, super soft skin. It also achieved the same de-puffing and awakened look as the serum, though it was much more hard-won. The toner also features a blend of 8% lactic acid and 3% glycolic acid, which are both alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs). AHAs exfoliate the skin by enhancing the breakdown of dead skin cells, leading to smoother, more radiant skin. The combination of these two AHAs not only exfoliate but work synergistically to retain hydration. Is The Youth to The People Cleanser Right For You?Fortunately, research has proven that applying antioxidants to the skin can help counteract these effects and protect the skin from further damage. There are plenty of antioxidants in the Youth to The People products. Made with kale, green tea, spinach, and vitamins C, E, and K, it’s the gel cleanser equivalent of a green smoothie. As a prototypical Angeleno and green juice aficionado, this intrigued me. Its nutrient-rich ingredients make it gentle enough for everyday use, unlike some cleansers which contain stripping ingredients like alcohols and parabens. So far, so good. But is it all talk?
