Large slice of NWA5000, the largest known lunar meteorite. It was found in the Sahara desert in 2007. [1] In addition to the 1000 lumen Boost mode, there are two more steady modes – 700 lumens and 100 lumens – plus three flashing, one of which is a daylight flash. There's also an SOS mode, which is designated for emergencies only.

It even suffers minor vibrations on rough roads – nothing significant, though. Obviously, the upside of this tool-free mount is the simplicity of moving it between bikes. There's a helmet mount available separately, should you prefer. You also get a wired remote control which connects to the light via the USB-C charging port. I've found that being able to change modes while keeping your hands on the hoods makes life a lot easier. I use the Ravemen PR1600 on my winter road bike, and being able to switch between dipped/high beam easily when interacting with oncoming traffic is great. Moon has judged the length of the cable well – it reaches from the hoods to the light while following the contours of the bar, so it'll sit nicely under the bar tape. So to the flashing/intermittent options. Arguably, the 400-lumen daylight option is the biggest selling point, but all these modes – 20 and 100-lumen options and a hybrid setting – have some genuine merit. Hybrid settings are becoming more popular and combine a low(er) constant beam with an extrovert flash/pulse, in this instance 20/400 lumens. I'm warming to them, though not sure they're necessarily superior to a 300/400-lumen flash in the safety/be-seen-with sense. Armstrong, John; Wells, Llyd E.; Gonzalez, Guillermo (2002). "Rummaging through Earth's Attic for Remains of Ancient Life". Icarus. 160 (1): 183–196. arXiv: astro-ph/0207316. Bibcode: 2002Icar..160..183A. doi: 10.1006/icar.2002.6957. S2CID 8939024. In the day flash setting you'll get 45hrs out of the light. That's easily enough for all the riding I can do for nearly a month. It's perfect for training rides when the sun never really comes up. The Moon Vortex Pro 1300 has seen a boost in lumens for 2020, and while that impacts burn-times a bit, the adjustability of the VLS system means that you have total control over the balance brightness levels and battery life. With plenty of accessories in the box, the Moon is quite the performance bargain too. In Moon's large range of bike lights, the Storm Lite slots in at the bottom of the Storm range, offering only slightly lower outputs than the top two but no fewer features.Gladman, B.; Burns, J. (1996). "The Delivery of Martian and Lunar Meteorites to Earth". Bulletin of the American Astronomical Society. 28: 1054. Bibcode: 1996DPS....28.0107G. All six of the Apollo missions on which samples were collected landed in the central nearside of the Moon, an area that has subsequently been shown to be geochemically anomalous by the Lunar Prospector mission. In contrast, the numerous lunar meteorites are random samples of the Moon and consequently provide a more representative sampling of the lunar surface than the Apollo samples. Half the lunar meteorites, for example, likely sample material from the farside of the Moon. The Moon Meteor-X Auto Pro is a great light for urban commuters or those who find themselves out in the dark every once in a while. It's a robust headlight, which balances light output and battery life smartly for a great price.

The awkward button is unfortunate, as it controls so many things with various durations of a press (both while on or off). Take the time learn these routines and familiarise yourself with the light indicators, though, and you really start to enjoy what it can offer. Charging To operate, the Storm took a bit of learning. With many lights you simply switch them on and cycle through the modes. With the Storm you switch it on it and can cycle through five modes, but to switch between steady and flashing you have to hold the power button down for two seconds. To do this it passes through the 'off' setting (a one-second hold), which means you really need to be somewhere lit or stationary if you want to swap on the move. Previous headlights include a Exposure Strada (broke) and a Raveman 1200 (lens fell off in middle of nowhere). The only criticism of the moon is the round light pattern; Strada, Raveman and my B&M IQ are all better in this, but then most people use round beams. As such this one is a good spread.Emma’s first encounters with a road bike were in between swimming and running. Soon after competing for GB in the World Age Group Triathlon Championships in Edmonton in 2001 she saw the light and decided to focus on cycling. Thankfully, once I'd found the right mode, the light has a memory feature so it turns on in the last one I was using.
