The D7500 doesn’t have a hybrid AF system like Canon’s DSLRs, so in Live View mode it relies solely on contrast autofocus, which is precise, but slower. If you want a compact camera that produces great quality photos without the hassle of changing lenses, there are plenty of choices available for every budget. The 500 and 7500 both look very capable but I'm not understanding the marketing strategy behind the 7500 release. Video capture is 4K which is pleasing as many DLSRs often omit this, although a wider than usual lens will be required due to the 1.

The addition of a tilting touchscreen screen, deeper grip and beefed-up sealing are all welcomed improvements, though. And despite the D7500's reduction in dots, its LCD actually appears a tad crisper than that of the D7200. As I shoot mostly models, the 'face detection' is all I needed to swing me in the D7500's direction. The D7500 is mostly a brilliant camera, but I've noted a fatal flaw in its design that few even discuss, let alone strike against the camera in reviews.

The D7500 is responsive, has really good AF, great image quality and a large bunch of advanced features related to photography. Nikon 1080p is very good anyway, the D5500 has similar IQ and identical DR to the C100, same detail too. Together with the speed and focus improvements Nikon has taken the camera to a level where it will focus and capture many images that would simply be missed by a slower less responsive camera. GadgetWard’s warranty provides coverage for defects in manufacturing only, and expressly excludes coverage for excessive wear and tear and/or physical/accidental abuse, loss and theft. Preserve the details in highlights and shadows, even when the scene includes moving subjects with Active D-lighting and set white balance simply by selecting the area of the frame that should be white.Macro is a full-frame L-mount lens that's designed to be a medium telephoto, portrait and macro lens all-in-one. At the time of its launch it looked like the start of a new generation of fast and versatile DSLRs, but with hindsight it looks like the end of an old generation instead.

We took to the streets for some portraits and shot a few macro photos for this first installment in our sample gallery.Phenomenal subject recognition: 180K-pixel RGB metering sensor and Advanced Scene Recognition system.

Easily generate smooth, well-exposed 4K/UHD and Full HD time-lapse movies in-camera in full DX-format. Look from another perspective thanks to the 8 cm tiltable touchscreen monitor and operate the AF and Shutter modes. Even so, the D7500’s Live View autofocus feels a little quicker than previous models – Nikon suggests this could be due to the more powerful Expeed 5 processor.

While both the D7100 and D7200 sported 24MP chips (as, for that matter, did the entry-level D3400 and D5600), here Nikon opted to use the slightly lower-resolution 20. It might not have the same alloy construction as the more expensive D500, but it nevertheless feels reassuringly solid and ‘grippable’, helped by its rounded corners and the high-quality materials used on its surfaces.
