Description

The bass has a bit more extension than a 7506 and hits a bit harder but still isn’t bass- heavy. It’s also not bass-light. It kind of sits in the middle.

Comfort is about on par with the 440, as is construction although I feel like the 280 is more robust. Great tonality, sub-focused bass emphasis, bassy without being muddy. Average imaging and resolution. This change of mind return policy is in addition to, and does not affect your rights under the Australian Consumer Law including any rights you may have in respect of faulty items. To return faulty items see our Returning Faulty Items policy. My DIY speaker system (it measures very flat) served as a reference with respect to tonal balance. I also own some open headphones like Sony MDR-MA900 and Sennheiser PX100, which also provided a baseline when I evaluated tonal balance of the headphones under comparison. I used a desktop headphone amp that has flat FR and reasonably low output impedance. Very bright in the treble range. Maybe too bright/Sibilant for some. Definitely brighter than a 440.

The Grados have a mid-range emphasis as compared to a mid-treble emphasis on the Shures, which means the Grados sound richer but perhaps not as lively (though the Grados will never be accused of sounding dead). Basically a brighter and slightly shoutier version of the OG; may be a little too intense for some.

The headphone that the elites love to hate... isn't that bad. An alright starter headphone, if generally overrated. I really enjoy the extension these provide, but as metal also said, it’s not quite as clean sounding as something like an HD600’s low-end response around the sub-bass regions.

Some states do not allow limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts, or the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitation may not apply to you. This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may have other rights which vary from state to state. A tad too shouty for my tastes, but far less offensive tonal characteristics than the average estat.

Personally, I love the design of the Shure SRH-440's they are not designed in any way to be fashion headphones. Rather the 440s are designed for their purpose and that is as a studio or home monitor. There is nothing too flashy about them, more so they are quite utilitarian in the looks department but one thing you do notice right away is they look classy. Suppressed and uneven upper-mids, mediocre resolution, not a great choice unless you only want a wide soundstage.

Shure SRH440

Also included is a Shure branded leather style carrying pouch which is a nice addition although it doesn't really provide much in the way of protection to your headphones on the go. Shure SRH-440 HEADPHONES -Looks and Build Quality - (8/10) Shure have been leaders in the audio technology industry for over ninety years and they are famous for their commitment to strong, high quality, durable audio equipment and this undoubtedly extends to their SRH440 professional headphones. Featuring the strong, durable build you expect from Shure, the SRH440s also have a detachable cable and replaceable earpads so if you should need to you can easily replace these components without having to replace the entire set of headphones. Subdued upper mids and enhanced mid-bass. If anything else, this is a headphone that wouldn't fatigue.
