If you’re looking for a product to stop just about any kind of leak, you’ve probably heard of Blue Devil. Blue Devil has been in the business of stopping leaks since 1997 and has had plenty of experience doing so over the years. As with a lot of problem areas, they’ve designed a product to help stop leaks in transmissions as well in their Blue Devil Transmission Sealer. With one main goal in mind, this product is easy to sum up: Also, using low-quality spare parts, particularly oil seals and bearings, can compromise the integrity of the gearbox, making it more susceptible to leaks. These substandard parts may not have the necessary durability and tight sealing properties to withstand the gearbox demands, leading to oil leakage. What to do with excessive gearbox leaking?

The excess pressure can also lead to the formation of leaks at weak points in the gearbox, such as damaged seals or worn-out gaskets. Also, the excess oil can create turbulence within the gearbox, further contributing to leaks. 6. Improper Maintenance and Low-Quality PartsLocate the drain plug on the gearbox and remove it to allow the oil to drain into a suitable container positioned underneath. The drain plug is typically located at the bottom of the gearbox and is easily identifiable by its hexagonal shape. The Wynns Automatic Transmission & Power Steering Stop Leak and Conditioner is an oil soluble supplement developed to stop & prevent leaks & ease shifting. It cleans and protects the system by means of detergents and dispersants, revitalising rubber seals and O-rings. Features & Benefits: To work on sealing the leak effectively, you’ll need to drain the existing gear oil from the gearbox.

Using a caulking gun or the provided applicator, carefully apply the sealant to the exact location of the leak. Ensure you cover the affected area with a thin, even sealant layer. Don’t apply too much, as excessive sealant can take a longer time to dry, causing further leaks. During my study, I have found several common reasons why a vehicle gearbox oil may leak. 1. Worn Seals and Gaskets ATP Automotive has designed a product that helps with restoring seals, gaskets, and reducing leaks in many applications. Not only can AT-205 RE-SEAL help stop leaks in your vehicles transmission, it can be used in other applications from power steering, to hydraulic systems, to engine oil. This makes this product extremely versatile which is a must have around the garage. If you don’t use it all the first time, there is sure to be some additional uses for it down the road. Below are a few notable features of AT-205 RE-SEAL:If left too long with low or no fluid, your vehicles transmission is at risk of being destroyed to the point where the vehicle will not function properly, or possibly not even drive. If left to this point the only option will be to repair the transmission. This is not only inconvenient, but could be very expensive as well. On top of all the cost and downtime, leaking fluid is also bad for the environment and will stain your driveway as it sits. While transmission leak repair can be expensive, many times you can stop the leak with a simple additive. In the big picture, it’s cheaper and easier to stop a transmission leak instead of letting it get damaged further. When this seal becomes worn or damaged, it can no longer effectively prevent oil from leaking out of the gearbox. Over time, the constant friction and heat generated by the gear drive and engine can cause the seal to deteriorate, leading to oil leaks.
