Take a little piece of 2000 grit sandpaper to the area and gently sand it smooth using some water. When the area is smooth you’ll see that the paint is no longer shiny. Use some rubbing compound on a microfibre cloth or pad to remove most of the haziness. Finally, follow up with a finishing polish to return the paint to its original shine. It can be done by hand but it would be better to use a polishing machine if you have one as this is much more effective at permanently removing the haziness. Apply a tiny amount of touch-up paint directly to the defect and not to the whole area you just wet sanded. Allow it to dry for the amount of time specified on the touchup paint. Once dry you can sand again and apply more touch-up paint if required. But you don’t need to be a detailing expert to use it. Read my full review below for hints and tips. Now you can use compound and polish to restore the shine to the area. I usually use Meguiars Ultimate Compound and Meguiars Ultimate Polish. If you've applied the Chipex system correctly, your stone chip repair should be a success, and you'll hardly notice where the ugly marks had been. You've also protected the area from rust and bubbling - brilliant! You have a number of options for applying the product. The dab and smear method involved using one of the supplied brushes to put a small blob of paint right beside the stone chip and spread it across with your finger (you should be wearing the supplied glove). Don’t worry if the paint is uneven. It can be fixed in the next stage. Note: drying time takes between 40 seconds and 5 minutes, depending on the ambient temperature and amount of paint you've applied. 4. Once the paint is dry to the touch, apply the supplied Step 2 Blending Solution to the paper cloth, and wipe across the painted areas with a light pressure - simply allowing the solution to do its job without any excess pressure. Allow a few minutes for the blending solution to dry before the next stage. 5. Take the Step 3 Finishing Polish, apply a small amount to a soft microfibre cloth and rub gently across the painted areas. Allow this to dry and haze, and then remove the haze with a clean area of the cloth.Just like our selection of sand, we supply decorative aggregates in 25kg handy bags for smaller projects and 800kg bulk bags for larger developments. For best results when laying paths, make sure you prepare the ground and consider installing a weed membrane to prevent any unwanted green growth in the future. On driveways, opt for larger chippings, as these will stay in place for longer and should not get caught in your tyre treads. Probably the best results you can get are if you use touch up paint and a polishing machine. But be warned, its time consuming and its not easy to do a perfect job. A polishing machine will also help. The 3M™ Accuspray™ atomising heads / nozzles, pressure and material flow, allows for different textured coatings to be applied, meaning you can easily match several different OEM textures to get the finish you need. The 3M™ PPS™ Pressure Cup takes air vented from the spray gun and pressurises it to ensure high viscosity material can be sprayed evenly. Pressurising the pot helps the bag to collapse and release the material in the required texture with the 3M™ Accuspray™ Pressurised HGP Spray Gun and 3M™ PPS™ Pressure Cups. Use the damp cloth to moisten the area and allow the product to dissolve the access paint. You can also apply it over the chips. Wipe the area gently and the access paint will come away. Use a separate microfiber cloth to clean up the area. Should you make a mistake, panic not! Simply use the Step 2 Blending Solution and start again. Easy.
