Description

CombiSave is a valve which is made from dezincification resistant brass and is a thermostatically controlled valve which is fitted with two rotatable elbows, which allows it to be fitted to a range of 15mm pipe configurations. CombiSave works by automatically controlling the flow of water every time a hot tap is turned on, allowing the boiler to heat the water faster and only returning the flow to normal once a usable temperature is reached.

Hi, I’m from Mole Group, I saw on here people talking about CombiSave. It’s great that our product has got people talking! I just wanted to answer a few of the questions raised... Typically, you will notice an increase in flow as soon as the water heats up. However, it’s not a cause for worry. Your taps won’t suddenly start bursting with hot water. I own a huge house. How many CombiSaves will I need?

More products for saving and efficiency

Independent tests by consultants EA Technology have shown that CombiSave can save a two-person household up to 28,000 litres of water and up to 600 kWh of gas every year – reducing CO 2 emissions by up to 130kg. Regardless of how huge your house is, you will only need one CombiSave per boiler. I already have a CombiSmart. Will I still need a CombiSave? CombiSave imitates an “intelligent tap” so does not affect boiler mechanisms. The lifespan of a CombiSave is 10-20 years and the oldest one fitted to the rudimentary design has been in place problem-free for five years.

So come on Combisave, your product has merit, please don’t spoil it by extraordinary, and, in my opinion and personal experience, overblown claims of monetary savings that it will simply not deliver.

On the older type of combi it takes a few seconds (up to 15 or so) for usable hot water to be produced or about 30 seconds for an Ideal Response! Kenny Maxwell added: “It’s a win-win for both the consumer and the installer. On the one hand, householders save money on their utility bills, while plumbers and heating technicians can demonstrate to their customers how they can help save them money whilst gaining a new income stream.” Yes, it does work on the same principle as turning the hot tap slightly until the water is hot. But as stated, it would be unlikely that everyone in the house and their guests could be trained to do this each time accurately. Also you can’t regulate the flow on some appliances such as washing machines and showers. Just as we buy remotes for TVs but we could do that manually too! A CombiSave is a simple valve that monitors the temperature of your water. If you have a Combi boiler and find you spend a lot of time waiting for your water to heat up to the right temperature, a CombiSave could be a good solution for you. They're also a good idea if you're on a water meter as they'll help you save water and lower your bills as a result. Why do I need Hive Active Heating? It helps to make homes more fuel efficient and offers householders free, impartial advice and support to reduce energy costs.
