Fab Filter, a brand generally spelled together "FabFilter", is a software company that creates audio plugins. The company was founded in the Netherlands, and is used by many famous musicians, such as Disclosure, Flux Pavillion, Hardwell and Sigala. Fab Filter is best known for their Fab Filter Pro Q 3 EQ plugin, Fab Filter Pro L 2 limiter plugin, and Fab Filter Pro R reverb. When can I get a deal on FabFilter? When does FabFilter have sales? Pro-R (Reverb) I'm constantly disappointed with reverbs. Exponential Audio's reverbs are the only reverbs I really love (well, kinda). Pro-R sounds good but I think there are a few alternatives you could try out that are just as good. -- Valhalla Supermassive ( https://valhalladsp.com/shop/reverb/valhalla-supermassive/ ) I'm guessing 94% of you guys own this, so no need to explain it, as every audio engineer should have this in their plugin folder. -- OrilRiver ( https://www.kvraudio.com/product/orilriver-by-denis-tihanov ) I cannot explain it, but I've been able to dial in some solid reverbs with this little guy. I have a feeling nobody else uses this plugin, but hey, maybe you'll try it and like it. Otherwise I really don’t like any other free reverbs that are out there. There are lots of really excellent third-party equalisers out there. I don’t mean character EQs which recreate Pultecs and Neves but offerings from the likes of GML, Sonnox, DMG, Waves and iZotope which are fantastic tools. If you can’t mix with these the problem is you, not your EQ. But the Pro-Q3 still seems to be the one to beat. Why? As for the EQ’s, FabFilter Pro-Q3 and Slate Digital Infinity EQ are, in my opinion, the best tools. For compression, I have 2 favorites plugins: Waves RComp and UAD EL8 Distressor.

iZotope’s Music Production Suite is everything that a modern mixing and mastering suite could be. iZotope plugins such as Neutron or Ozone combine all the separate stages of a mix or master, into a single hub. As far as features are concerned, one of them is particularly interesting: the Mix mode. This mode is in fact the intermediate mode between linear and non-linear. In fact, the higher the EQ band goes, the more linear the processing tends to be. Which, in the mixing phase, is almost magic.But the plugin’s charm lies in its sound and usability. For instance, FabFilter added a knee display and a fader that offers control from 0dB (hard knee) and +72dB (soft knee). The previous version only has two Knee settings. The added fader gives users more creative control to the signal, as Knee levels can be used to smoothen the sound as well as to add some saturation to it.

Overall this new plugin from Antares is a great tool to add to the long list of great plugins built by the American company. It deserves to be added to this list of plugins that could represent an alternative to FabFilter Pro-Q3. All of these give you total control of the sound. Pro-C 2 offers no extra bells and whistles, but it gets the job done, quite perfectly in fact, given its price. Demonstration Brainworx plugins are tools that are often used in the professional field and less in the amateur field due to their complexity of use. But the quality of these plugins is really undeniable. IQ-EQ is a 6-band dynamic equalizer that can be used as a standard EQ but also as a de-esser or downward and upward compressor. Natural Phase Mode: more demanding on the CPU but uses a different EQ response curve which FabFilter claims is more natural compared to standard EQs.Reviewers also praised the new filter shapes, particularly the flat tilt shape. The shape rotates the frequency spectrum from an indicated fulcrum, allowing the user to boost or cut from that frequency incrementally. This allows for a laser-sharp and smooth filtering. We own both bundles, so it’s hard to make an objective choice when you’re spoiled for choice. That being said, we tend to reach for Pro-Q or Pro-C way more than we do for Neutron or Ozone, make of that what you will. Infinity EQ is the only plugin on this list that has no dynamics functionality. Indeed, it is a pure full-parametric EQ. No more, no less. Incredibly lightweight, Micro only has one filter.
