Description

As the name suggests, the sleeping pad has a “V” shape from the center, while the outer edges are rectangles that form somewhat of a side rail. See the photo above.

In summary, while the Static V2 is slightly lighter than its V1 predecessor, their many similarities cannot be ignored. The Klymit Static V insulated sleeping pad is a lightweight sleeping pad that boasts an R-value of 4.4, keeping you warm while sleeping on the coldest ground. This was what I was most excited to test out, as my older pad has a normal, simple design. While I like my other pad, I do tend to wake-up multiple times in the night to adjust, as I am a side sleeper. Klymit's Static V Insulated sleeping mat uses synthetic insulation to deliver a warm sleeping mat with optimised baffle pattern for comfort. The Cido Self-Inflating double sleeping pad follows this same line of thought. Pushing two pads together can be impractical and uncomfortable. The double sleeping pad from Cido allows you and your partner to sleep together comfortably on a self-inflating pad that weighs in at 5.73 lbs.

The side rails help cradle your body in the center, even if you toss and turn. The V-Shape also helps keep you in place, and lofts your sleeping bag to keep you warmer. Winner: Both of these pads perform well in the category of comfort. When you are looking for a good, thin pad that still lets you sleep well, either one of these will take care of you. The V-shaped design is implemented in both of the pads and helps to trap air to both keep you warm and reduce the bouncy-castle feel that most inflatable pads have. Value The Klymit Static V Short is a lightweight camping pad using body mapping technology at an entry level price. It features the V-Chamber design which limits air movement and heat loss while offering a uniquely ergonomic body map which is optimzed for performance and comfort. Now I have always had mixed feelings about double pads. Kind of like double sleeping bags – I love the concept – but the reality does not always produce the best night’s sleep.

Important Note:To avoid popping or deflating your pad, it’s important to adjust the air volume depending on the outside temps. If it’s cold, the air in your mattress will compress, and when it’s warm, it’ll inflate. Don’t blow it up all the way if it’s warm out or it will pop! Sleeping with your sweetheart isn’t just comforting, it’s often warmer than sleeping separately. Recognizing this need, many companies have produced sleeping bags that are either double-sized or can be zipped together to form one bag. The other disappointment with the Klymit Static V and V2 is that it only comes in one size option which is 72" long. As someone who is 73" tall, this is a deal breaker! Most other companies offer their sleeping pads in multiple sizes, usually ranging from 72" up to 78" which will work for most people. If you want a 3-4 season sleeping pad, then the V2 is not for you, as this is a non-insulated pad that focuses on weight and comfort over the R-Value. This is also a uni-sex sleeping pad. Women-specific pads insulate the core and feet area more.

The NeoAir Xtherm ditches the mainstream rectangular shape for a contoured build. This makes it overall more weight-effective, without compromising comfort and it’s a seriously comfortable, seriously lightweight sleeping pad – as an all rounder, the Xtherm is hard to beat, but it ain’t cheap and there are some better value options out there. Its push valve makes deflation and inflation effortless. In just a matter of 10-15 breaths, your sleeping pad is ready to sleep into for the rest of the night. Klymit Static V is also incredibly lightweight. It weighs 18.07 ounce, which makes it very portable in a deflated state. Its specially crafted V-shaped configuration guarantees that you’ll have a comfortable sleep regardless of the position you go in. I will say that I used this sleeping pad in the lower 40s (F) without any insulation between the floor and my pad or my pad and my sleeping bag. I still stayed warm, despite this pad’s low rating. This could be due to its deep weld patterning. Both myself (a cold sleeper and 5’6” woman), and my boyfriend (a hot sleeper and 6′ male) tested the Klymit sleeping pad. For the typical camper who doesn’t need to worry about every ounce of weight, the Static v2 offers more comfort than many of its competitors. While there are sleeping pads that are warmer or lighter or more durable, the Klymit Static v2 hits a sweet spot between all of these considerations and is less expensive than most pads currently on the market. For anyone new to camping or for individuals who don’t want to spend a large sum of money on equipment, the Static v2 is ideal. With this design it doesn’t bounce a lot when you move around, and the sides don’t collapse. It does however feel slightly less “nice” than sleeping on a smoother surface. Secondly, this is a lightweight pad, as I’ve already stressed, and it is non-insulated and designed for summer. Its low R-value at 1.3 means this is not for high altitudes or mountaineers. That said, I used this pad at 8,500 feet on a 40-degree night without any insulation and just my sleeping bag for warmth. It was completely fine at this temperature. Winner: While both of these sleeping pads have a great value with a low price, the Static V2 just barely tops the V. It just can’t really be beat by most sleeping pads trying to make it in its category. For the weight, durability, and comfort with such a low price, the value is outstanding. It’s hard to say anything bad about this pad, and Klymit has decided to give it to us for cheap. Conclusion

Klymit has made the Static V one of the warmest pads in its price range. We don’t know exactly how they did it, just that we love that they did. In that case, you may need to seek out an additional pad to place underneath the Static V, but for most average-temperatured humans, this one is going to keep you warm. The Static V2 is a comfortable, lightweight and super compact sleeping mat with a unique V shaped centre that hugs the body like no other camping mat. Do naší nabídky jsme také zařadili nafukovací vak na plochý ventil “flip valve” pro snadnější nafukování karimatek a také snížení kondenzace uvnitř karimatky při nafukování pusou. Promyšlená konstrukceOn top of the different fabrics, the Static V2 improved the inflation valve to avoid leaks and increase its durability. Both of these improvements were necessary and we’re stoked to see that Klymit has implemented them.
