Description

It’s easy to overlook the weatherproofing of the gazebo’s frame, but if it isn’t waterproof it will rust and wear down, rendering the gazebo unusable. Steel and aluminium frames can be susceptible to rusting if they’re not properly treated. Look for frames that are powder-coated: this involves covering the frame with a polyester or epoxy powder, which is heated to fuse into a protective layer over the metal. What are the red flags that indicate a gazebo will not be waterproof and weatherproof? When it comes to purchasing a waterproof gazebo, there are several factors to consider to ensure you make the right choice for your needs. Let's explore some essential elements to keep in mind as you embark on your search for the perfect waterproof gazebo.

Our canopy covers are easy to use and maintain. We offer covers with easy slip on & off features to simplify usage. Our covers also have integrated access handles. We provide a standard opening flap with a split zipper in width so that you can sit in your canopy protected. The flap comes with Velcro on the top side to easily hang the flap. You can use just a portion of the cover and not the whole thing with this feature. Make sure you are not working on a windy day, either. The wind will blow away the waterproof spray, which will result in an uneven application. Tape is an essential part of waterproofing and can be used in multiple ways depending on the type of material being sealed. For example, if you’re using canvas or vinyl materials for your canopy, you should use duct tape along all seams and edges to provide a secure seal to keep out moisture. If you’re using plastic sheeting or tarps for your canopy, then double-sided adhesive tapes such as gaffer’s tape work best since they won’t leave behind residue when removed later on. Complement your beautiful outdoors with our personalised covers for your canopy. Add a sense of uniqueness to your covered canopy with UV resistant printing. You can add a text or graphic of your choice. Personalise with a simple quote, your house number or a family monogram. This will be far more waterproof than a single sheet of polyester, which is often what you get with cheap gazebo canopies. Although polyester offers some water resistance, it does absorb a small amount of water, so when used in relatively thin sheets without lining it can leak. Properly treated polyester that’s lined with another material will be far more water-resistant and essentially waterproof. We line our polyester canopies with PVC on the inside, which prevents any water seeping through into the gazebo. The factors that might indicate a gazebo might not be as waterproof as its manufacturer implies include: Another factor is the quality of ratchet tie-downs and ground bars and how well they have been installed.

Our covers are made with high quality fabric to keep your shaded structure looking good outdoors. We offer three weather specific fabric options to choose from- Cover Max, Cover Fab & Cover Tuff. These fabrics are made with UV & tear resistant material. You won’t have to fret over rust, dust, hail and storms damaging your canopy with our canopy covers. If you’ve had your gazebo for a few years and its water resistance is wearing down, you can top up the chemical treatment on the canopy by applying Fabsil. This will help to restore the water-resistant properties. Yes, you can waterproof a gazebo canopy. This is done by using a waterproofing spray or sealant to coat the fabric of the canopy and protect it from water damage. It’s important to make sure that all areas of the canopy are covered with an even layer of waterproofing product for maximum protection. Additionally, reapplying this product every few months will help ensure your gazebo remains protected against rain and other moisture sources. What can I use to waterproof a canopy?Wash down the whole canopy using a hose or a power washer. Use a broom to scrub off any stubborn stains and wring out excess water from the canopy when you are done. If the canvas is covering the posts of the gazebo, unhook it first before proceeding to the top. The sides can be waterproofed, as well, to achieve full protection. With the help of a ladder, undo the Velcro straps or snaps to remove the canopy from the gazebo frame.

Take a look at this customer’s video to see how sturdy our structures are in strong winds. How waterproof is the Gala Tent gazebo? Our covers also come with tie down options to help ventilation and prevent mould. You can choose from elastic, drawstring, push clips and Velcro straps options depending on preference. Personalised Canopy Covers with Customised Colour Our canopy covers provide year-round protection to your canopy for its eternal glory. With the best fabric technology and fitting, we ensure that you can sip your morning tea/coffee on the same canopy for years to come. Our covers are 100% waterproof and shield your canopy from all weather conditions. To further prepare your canvas for waterproofing treatment, apply a primer designed specifically for outdoor fabrics like canopies. This helps protect against UV rays as well as provide additional adhesion between fabric fibres and whatever product you choose later on (e.g., spray-on sealant). Follow manufacturer instructions when using primers; usually, they need time to cure before proceeding with other steps in this process.

Once the canopy is completely dry, you can reattach it to the gazebo frame. Get your family members to help you out. Use a ladder to gain better access to the gazebo roof. Silicon seam sealant can be used on stitches for extra protection on the most vulnerable areas of the canopy. Gazebos tend to leak around the stitches and in the corners of the canopy, but an extra sealant can help prevent it.

Most pop-up gazebo canopies are made from the same main material — polyester. It’s the added extras that make the difference between a leaky gazebo and a waterproof one. Try and find out if the canopy has been treated with a waterproofing chemical before you buy — this will make it far more resilient in wet weather. At Gala we use Fabsil to protect our canopies.

Customer Support

Are you searching for a versatile, stylish and functional outdoor structure that can withstand the elements and offer protection from the rain? Look no further than the waterproof gazebo! Designed to provide shelter and comfort in your outdoor space, this subcategory of gazebos is specifically crafted to keep you dry no matter the weather conditions. Gazebos are best at withstanding wind if the frame has been designed to allow flexibility. This lets the gazebo move with the wind instead of trying to hold its ground against it, which normally ends up in the gazebo getting damaged.
