Smokeless fuels are environmentally friendly because they emit 80% less smoke and 25% less carbon dioxide than regular charcoal or wood.

Plus, if you’re using instant light fire logs alongside other fuel for your fire, you can simply place the fire log on the fire and use it to help getting your other fuels started too. 2. Less mess, cleaner to handle There’s a good reason you don’t see any paleontological evidence of Velociraptors making campfires with fire logs. Humans are the only species to have been able to control fire at will. Not only has this unique attribute thrust us to the top of the food chain – past the Velociraptors and chimpanzees. It’s also given us the terrifyingly awe-striking power to fuel all kinds of endeavours. While most people have heard of kiln dried or seasoned logs, instant light fire logs are less well known. So, we’re here to set the record straight with 5 great reasons why instant light fire logs could be the perfect fuel for you this winter. 1. They’re easier to light While some people are using instant light fire logs mixed with other fuels to gain more control and precision over the fire in their home, others are choosing fire logs for convenience.. As fire logs are so consistent and their burn times so predictable, it’s easy to plan how much fuel you need for your fire. One of the major benefits of instant light fire logs is their long burning time. With each log giving you roughly 2 hours of burn time, they’re an efficient way to keep your fire going. Plus, they’re suitable for wood burning and multi-fuel stoves, as well as fireplaces, chimineas and fire pits, so they can be used almost anywhere.

Heat logs are basically manufactured ‘logs’ that are created using specific processes. Think less bearded man, axe and tree, and more finely chopped material, machine and compression. Basically we take saw dust or other biomass options, place them in a mould and compress the mixture to about 1000kg/m3. The key lies in the compression. You see the higher the compression, the lower the internal moisture levels per log – as water is extracted during the compaction process. When all is said and done, heat logs usually have an internal moisture level between 5 to 10%. This utopia of dryness delivers a better and more efficient burn thanks to higher calorific value per log. Our Heat Logs are ideal for use in fireplaces, stoves and log burners, as they deliver a whoppingly high heat output with minimal smoke and ash – keeping all your kit nice and clean. Are you ready for the best part? Every log has an internal moisture of only 8% meaning super soaring temperatures. Plus there’s no sparking or spitting, making them a perfect match for home heating. Build a small tipi fire on top of the log and light it up. Continue to feed the fire with dried twigs or small pieces of kindling until the kindling inside the log catches fire. As the fire burns downward it will get bigger and the inside of the wood log will also provide the fuel for this fire.

Right after you get your wood or coals burning and piping hot, all you need is a grill grate that will sit on top of the outer walls of your fire pit and you are ready to grill! It’s time to dish out your sausages, meats, burger patties and anything you can think of on top of the grill in sheer unadulterated caveman form. What better way to beat the cold weather and fill your belly up, all at the same time? It goes without saying that we have pro quality restaurant grade charcoal for use in smoke control areas. Our hardworking Dura charcoal and clean Au Natural briquettes deliver quality, performance and little to no smoke. The answer is no. But here comes the caveat. Installing a log burner will be more complex without a chimney. This is because you might need to install a twin wall flue system via the roof or wall. Please note that we cannot give you a time to expect your delivery. If you call us on the morning of your delivery, we can give you an estimated time frame. Versatility is key. You can use these compressed fire logs in literally any stove, fireplace, fire pit, chiminea or wood stove. You can also mix and match these fire logs with any logs for fire or firewood – giving you the best of both worlds.

Ensure that all air vents (if you have them) in the fireplace are open. If you have an open fireplace then you are good to go obvs! Another innovative method to cook in your fire pit is the rotisserie or spit roasting method. For this, you need to skewer your desired cut of meat on a long metal rod known as the spit. This metal rod is mounted on top of the fire, suspended between 2 supporting pillars on either side of the fire pit. The best results are achieved if you could rotate this spit and the meat along with it for slow, even cooking. This makes the meat tender and succulent with a hint of smoky flavour as a bonus.

Next up, we’ve got something for the kings and queens of convenience. We’re talking to the peeps that like thing nice and breezy. And by nice and breezy we mean maximum results for minimum input. Introducing the Big K Instant Light Fire log. Imagine a heat log made from recycled sawdust and wood – all wrapped up. All you need to do is light the wrapper and your fire is good to go. No kindling. No firelighters. No fuss. Uniform shape, size, and density produce a consistent burn, releasing heat evenly. This consistency gives more control on every burn.
