As if that’s not enough, Addie starts to see similarities between her own life and that of her murdered grandmother, the biggest being that each of them had a stalker. Addie’s recently discovered that someone has been watching her, both in and out of the house. Her stalker will not let her go and the more she reads in her great-grandmother’s journals, the more she starts to feel like history might be repeating itself. So, on top of complaining about the quality of the smut, I'm also here to complain about the quantity. So again, this book has no romantic aspect, thin plot and bad characters, so people read it for the smut. Yet, I had to wait until around 40% to read the first sex scene!!! BOOOOOO 🍅🍅🍅. And when we finally get to the smut, this is what we get:I was pretty satisfied near the ending of book one - Z got the girl, she accepted him into her life, she solved the mystery of who murdered her grandmother, it was all wrapped up in a neat little bow. I truly don't know how to put into words how much I LOVE this book and sincerely this entire duet. This is a masterpiece and I have been putting off writing this review because this one is hard for me to write.

Adeline had to navigate a complicated family dynamic, filled with resentment, neglect, and a constant struggle for acceptance.The mystery aspect was pretty well done but don’t expect anything extremely unique or surprising. It was easy enough to guess what happened to Addie’s great-grandmother pretty early on. I don’t feel that it detracted from my enjoyment though since that was only a side plot of the story. Haunting Adeline” not only delves into spine-chilling suspense but also explores the profound psychological impact on both the characters and readers. The exploration of complex emotions and the manipulation of psychological states adds depth to the narrative and further intensifies the haunting tale. Hunting Adeline by H.D. Carlton is the second book and conclusion to the Cat & Mouse duet. I reviewed the first book Haunting Adeline last week. The chemistry between the two is really good and the smut is super juicy. The murder mystery aspect was something I enjoyed and how 'Z' handled the crimes. The eerie dreams experienced by Adeline are laced with cryptic messages, offering insight into the haunting and its origins.
