Clearly this is an awesome toy, everyone in the house has played with it and it leads to squeals and laughter whatever age you are. The N-Strike Elite Hyperfire Blaster is really easy to control, with an acceleration button/trigger to 'fire it up' and then a trigger to shoot. The belt has tabs that grip the darts, pulls them from the drum and holds them in place until you are ready to fire. The age range is appropriate though, these darts don't half sting when they hit, and 6 year olds as a rule simply don't have the ability to be safe or accurate. The combination of the quietness and smoothness makes you realize that NERF has really stepped up the engineering a notch.

I had heard about canted flwyheels, but didn't know what that meant until your pics; thanks for that. The HyperFire was released in a Costco exclusive value pack that included the blaster, two twenty-five dart drums, fifty Elite Darts, and instructions. I’m glad they ship it with a 25 short drum, as a blaster that can fire this fast needs all that and more…. However, the clever engineering folk over at NERF have also engineered a funky conveyor belt system. Today, we have millions of users a month from around the world, and assess more than 1,000 products a year. The ratings/reviews displayed here may not be representative of every listing on this page, or of every review for these listings. The handling is also excellent, in part thanks to the batteries pulling weight back towards the shoulder and balancing things out. We also found that the canted flywheels, while also improving accuracy, seem to help out with both the overall range and the consistency of the distance the darts flew.

although I trust you'll be more careful than my children, and hopefully you don't have house rabbits who think Nerf darts are super-tasty. Our existing Nerf is teensy in comparison, and the Elite Blaster was in demand when they saw how fast the darts are when the trigger is pressed. This is definitely better than I expected, and in part due to the 'trigger' nature of the acceleration button, rather than having an 'on/off' switch which kids especially never turn off with any level of urgency. The “D” batteries are large and comparatively expensive too, so changing them regularly should be budgeted for. Unpacking the Hyperfire you will find, the blaster itself, a 25 round drum and 25 darts to feed into the drum.

However, the Hyperfire doesn’t initially cost as much as you might expect, considering it’s the fastest-firing NERF yet – and the foam-fizzing fun it promises will make that extra expense seem worthwhile. It also comes with a 25 dart drum, which you will need as you can fire up to five darts per second straight out of the box.

We’ve already got one Nerf, with precious few foam darts left, so getting this to try was very well received by my boys, and even my teen had lots of fun with it.

The other thing you notice is how much quieter and smoother it is than the older full-auto blasters too. Just be wary that you’ll empty the mag quicker than you expect, so you’ll probably want to budget for a spare mag or two – assuming you don’t already have any standard NERF clips in your arsenal. I trust people will be able to solve their misplaced piece syndrome with the above catalog, and the full disassembly will help users to properly paint their blasters. Thanks to a battery-powered motordrive and a 25-shot drum magazine, it can spit out up to five foam darts per second. You are supplied with 25 Elite darts, but it will take any Nerf darts, and you'll probably need them. The HyperFire’s muzzle velocity was pretty impressive, with an average just under 75 feet per second, which is a few FPS better than the N-STRIKE ELITE average. Some of the technologies we use are necessary for critical functions like security and site integrity, account authentication, security and privacy preferences, internal site usage and maintenance data, and to make the site work correctly for browsing and transactions. Loading the magazine is done in the usual NERF manner of, well, just pushing each dart into the top of the mag in the right direction (as indicated by an arrow on the side).
