to find a job you will enjoy think of the daily tasks and activities you will do on that job. If you enjoy the daily tasks you will enjoy the job. We often like the idea of a career (for example becoming a lawyer fighting for justice in the courts) but we don’t know that the daily grind is comparatively unglamorous (lawyers work long hours) Nedostaje ti motivacija? Confirmation bias, bias blind spot, and more things mentioned in each chapter are eye-opening things for me because I don’t think many people notice those in their everyday life. If you’re writing a speech, starting small might just mean making a list of things you want to give a speech about. Never underestimate the simple steps because they will allow you to shape your ideas. Everyone has their skill. Some of us are still finding what we are masters at, some of us already found it. One of the important skills is putting yourself out there, engaging people, and expanding your circle. By that, I mean finding a positive circle of positive people.

When I treat other people with kindness and love, it is part of my way of paying my debt to God and the world for the privilege of living on this planet.”Think Big provides a practical framework to keep you moving in the right direction towards any goal. It will help you get out of your own way and propel you on the path to success, transforming you from dreamer to doer! If we commit ourselves to reading thus increasing our knowledge, only God limits how far we can go in this world.”

If I speak in the tongues of men and of angles, but am note nice, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but am not nice, I am nothing. If I give all I posses to the poor and surrender my body to the flames, but am not nice, I gain nothing.” Your comfort zone is a place where you keep yourself in a self-illusion and nothing can grow there but your potentiality can grow only when you can think and grow out of that zone.” When we are confronted by failure and mistakes, we can leave them behind and go on with our lives.” What do I mean by vague? He starts off the book describing these individuals without diving into without describing what he believes THINK BIG is to his audience. Several times I read, “*INSERT NAME*, who thinks big…,” and I was left wondering what it meant, in Carson’s definition, to THINK BIG. I think it would have been more appropriate to describe what THINK BIG is followed by talking about the other individuals. This would help to drive home points better and it would be clearer how these individuals thought big in Carson’s definition. By applying the principles in this book, Ben rose from his tough life to one of amazing accomplishments and international renown. He learned that he had potential, he learned how to unleash it, and he did. You can too. Put the principles in this book in motion. All knowledge is important - a fact that some people do not want to hear. One of the wonderful things about learning is that knowledge not only translates from from area to another but is also an avenue that leads to understanding and insight." First, we cannot overload the human brain. This divinely created brain has fourteen billion cells. If used to the maximum, this human computer inside our heads could contain all the knowledge of humanity from the beginning of the world to the present and still have room left over. Second, not only can we not overload our brain - we also know that our brain retains everything. I often use saying that "The brain acquires everything that we encounter." The difficulty does not come with the input of information, but getting it out. Sometimes we "file" information randomly of little importance, and it confuses us.” I found his philosophy to be refreshing, because he adds elements that I have not, or rarely, have heard of from other successful individuals in trying to describe their philosophy on success. (The best one, I still think, is Napoleon Hill in his book, “The Law of Success,” which I recommend to everyone!) Not to mention Carson’s philosophy is one of the more practical philosophies in attempting to live a fulfilling life.

Carson uses personal examples as well as examples from others to expand and verify each of the points listed above. I really enjoyed this book. It does repeat a few stories from his other books. This man is very wise and offers a lot of truth that can be applied to all lives. As I write this I see that Ben Carson is gaining in the polls as a presidential candidate. I think he would be an excellent president and is what this country needs. I trust you will enjoy and be challenged by the quotes below: Every man who knows how to read has it in his power to magnify himself, to multiply the ways in which he exists, to make his life full, significant, and interesting. ~Aldous HuxleyBest of all, we became favorites of the librarians. When new books came in that they thought either of us would enjoy, they held them for us. Soon I became fascinated as I realized that the library had so many books—and about so many different subjects. I chose this theme because our society tends to focus on super-entertainers, sports figures, politicians, Maybe that is the best lesson I learned in my first semester at Yale, because if I had gone to a less-demanding school and continued to sail along on the top, I am sure I would never have attained the subsequent achievements in my life.” Dr. Benjamin S. Carson, Sr., M.D., became the chief of pediatric neurosurgery at Johns Hopkins Hospital in 1984 at the age of 33, making him the youngest major division director in the hospital’s history. He has written and published nine books, four of which were co-authored with Candy, his wife of 40 years. Dr. Carson was the recipient of the 2006 Spingarn Medal. In June 2008, he was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom. U.S. News Media Group and Harvard’s Center for Public Leadership recognized Dr. Carson as one of “America’s Best Leaders” in 2008. In 2014, the Gallup Organization, in their annual survey, named Dr. Carson as one of the 10 Most Admired Men in the World. This book is for you if your life is a series of shattered dreams. This book is for you if you have no dreams at all. It’s for you if you’ve bought the lie that you’ll never amount to anything. That’s not true.
