Add to the audio mix virtual 5.1 surround sound, AI algorithm up-mixing and Dolby Atmos surround sound support, and the A1 presents a surprisingly meaty, immersive audio experience for what is considered a budget OLED model. Voice Control, Smartphone Remote Control, USB Media Player, Hotel Mode, Parental Control, Teletext, Subtitles, EPG HDR content tells a similar story. You’ll get eye-searing impact and brightness from the LG’s HDR Vivid mode but it isn’t strictly accurate – it’s just the brightest of the bunch. For out and out accuracy, you’ll want to opt for the Cinema preset for all HDR content. This lowers the peak brightness, though, so you may want to enable the Dynamic Tone Mapping option to get a bit more punch – or resort to the Vivid mode for the brightest rooms. Much sounds similar to last year's B Series, with a step-down a7 processor rather than the a9 Gen 4 AI chip used in the C1 and G1 OLEDs. The a7 isn't quite as advanced (hence the price drop), and tends to lead to more banding and video noise in dark scenes, but it still makes for a generally favorable picture. The most widely used panels are those with 6, 8, and 10 bits for each of the RGB components of the pixel. They provide 18-, 24-, and 30-bit color, respectively.

The devices in this range are certified with regard to visual safety for the eyes, as the level of blue light emitted is very low. Other LG OLED models are LG OLED CX6 and LG OLED GX6. Structure And Audio Equipment You wouldn’t expect much from internal speakers on a TV this slim, but the GX is something of an outlier. There’s enough clarity and volume to make a surprisingly good fist of movies and TV for everyday use. If you can’t upgrade to a soundbar or proper surround sound setup right away, then you’ll be pleasantly surprised. And if you do want a matching soundbar, it’s well worth considering LG’s own GX soundbar – its slim, wall-mountable design is a perfect match ( read our full review here).
