Hi-Res audio files are supported as well as all the regular streamed music formats, and Sony provides a few audio processing options designed to bolster various aspects of the sound. This ability to go big and bold at the drop of a hat holds up when it comes to bass, with even the most sudden infusions of deep rumble sounding convincing and well balanced. The A5000 manages to plumb low frequency depths beyond anything you’d commonly hear from single soundbar solutions, too, creating a really cinematic sense of heft and weight. There’s no sense of the bass drivers having to find their feet or ‘settle into’ their stride when low frequency moments hit, either; they plough straight into the action.
