Description

Most top-end headphones allow you to still hear a conversation at a certain decibel which can be lifesaving. Unfortunately, the Minelab Vanquish 540 is not a Pro metal detector. Still, it is an excellent machine for any beginner or more advanced hunter.

With Minelab's simultaneous multi-frequency it's like using all your coils in one sweep of your machine. Three Simultaneous Frequencies Considering the detector’s reasonable pricing, it is the perfect choice for anyone wanting to treasure hunt, irrespective if you’re a beginner or a pro hunter. Because it is so well put together, lightweight, and easy to use, it gets a thumbs up as a build-and-go machine. There are a few detectors on the market that claim to be multi-frequency, but they actually only switch between single frequencies, operating on just one at a time. Probably the most exciting feature of the Vanquish 540, which puts it way ahead of others in its price range (and above), is the inclusion ofMinelab's groundbreaking Multi-IQ technologyseenon Minelab'sEquinox series machines, theworld's best-selling metal detectors of 2018/2019,and also the first detectors to offer true simultaneous detection of multiple frequencies. All the Vanquish Series detectors operate on three frequencies, low, medium, and high simultaneously, giving you the best of all worlds whatever you are searching for. The beach is where the it seems to excel. It’s highly stable and performs optimally. A great feature of this metal detector is that you can hide bottle caps or crown corks. They show up in the iron area, but you can completely eliminate them by selection.

So if you are not planning on Gold Prospection or underwater detection then any Vanquish model is probably enough … Otherwise, investing in an Equinox model is probably worth it! Reasons why you should opt for Minelab Products in general! The Minelab Equinox series consists of the Equinox 600 and 800. These were the first metal detectors to feature Minelab’s Multi-IQ technology. With advanced technology not found in more expensive machines and turn on and go usability combined with a lightweight, compact design, When you arrive on the beach, you must switch on the Vanquish 540. You do this by putting the coil onto the sand and pressing down on the power button. The LED will start up, and now you can play with the settings.

There is also a video underneath the Software Update section showing you exactly how to apply the update. As it stands, you can only update the Simplex + using a PC using Windows software. There is no capability to update on a Mac right now. Nokta Makro offers a 2-year warranty on the Simplex +. The Minelab Vanquish 340 is the lowest priced model and has the fewest features. While still designed to be an all-terrain model, it does not have a pinpoint mode like the 540, it has fewer Find Modes than the 540.

which is probably better described as switchable frequency. Switching frequency is effectively like swapping one single frequency coil for another, without physically swapping it. The Multi-IQ technology, rugged design, and the fact they are both waterproof up to 10 feet, make both Equinox metal detectors a great choice. Remember, though, that the Equinox 600 can only use 3 of the frequencies when operating in single frequency mode, while the 800 can use all 5. This allows the metal detector to operate on multiple frequencies simultaneously. This detector uses frequencies of 5 kHz, 10 kHz, 15 kHz, 20 kHz, and 40 kHz. The lower frequencies are best for finding metals like silver. The higher frequencies of this detector will make it better for finding small or fine gold than the Simplex +. Gold is best found at frequencies above 18 kHz, so this detector will have more chance at finding small gold nuggets and fine jewelry. as seen in the Equinox Series which made it a real game changer in the metal detecting world and by far the best selling metal detector in 2018, 2019 and probably all-time to date.

Probably the most exciting feature of the Vanquish Series, which puts it way ahead of others in its price range (and above), The Simplex + is fully waterproof up to 10 feet. The Vanquish 540 has a waterproof search coil but the control box should never be submerged in water. If you plan to search in shallow waters or are looking for a shallow diving metal detector, the Simplex + wins out in this area. The Vanquish 540 can still be used in shallow waters, but great care should be taken to keep the control box safe and dry. I, too, have all the bases covered for the detecting I most enjoy doing and appreciate what I get in performance out of the basically simple yet functional V-540. Waterproof: All Vanquish models have waterproof coils, but only the coil, the control box is definitely not … Thus you can’t submerge them underwater … However, the Nox 600 and 800 could be submerged underwater up to 10 feet … Thus you can do some underwater detection if you want to! The 340 does not have the Custom or Relic mode. It also has fewer volume settings (3 compared to the 540s 10), non-adjustable Iron Bias (preset to High), only 4 sensitivity levels (the 540 has10), and 3 target ID tones (the 540 has 5).You have the choice between 4 different options depending on the features you need or simply looking for … Below I break down each one of them! 1. VANQUISH 340 I personally feel that not many hobbyists understand the real added value of this series, especially that the company already offers the GO-FIND series and Equinox series! I also really like the vibration target alert on the Simplex +. This is handy when you are metal detecting in an area that is populated and you either cannot hear your metal detector well, do not want to wear headphones (or it is dangerous to do so), or you simply do not want to draw too much attention to yourself or bother others with the constant beep of a metal detector. This feature is also handy when shallow diving without headphones. The vibration is easy to feel underwater and extremely helpful. It is also a good thing for those hard of hearing. They are even more than ordinary if compared with the rivals. Since, I believe this is the time to move on and offer the users something more than a standard control unit on a primitive shaft. And I feel that the company needs more time to develop something new to overwhelm the market with and releasing this series of detectors will allow them to gain at least 2 to 3 years to release something new from a technological stand-point!

Technical Reason: Before if you wanted to have a Minelab multi-frequency machine with Iron Bias feature you had to acquire an Equinox model which is not affordable by everybody! Multi-IQ allows uses to search areas that have already been hunted because of the different frequencies. This is one of the only entry-level metal detectors I have seen that can find gold because of the higher frequencies. Vanquish 540, and the others in the line, also maintain accurate Target ID at maximum depth compared to most single frequency detectors. To start with, let’s define what kind of product line is that? Well, things are quite simple here. Minelab has a product line of metal detector for beginners called Minelab Go-Find. It turned out to be not very successful one. It hasn’t been in demand from the very beginning and, moreover, nowadays it has become outdated. The Nokta Makro Simplex + is one of my favorite metal detectors on the market currently. This model is tailored to beginning detectorists, yet it has numerous features that will keep an intermediate detectorist happy. The Simplex + is fully submersible up to 10 feet, making it perfect for shallow diving or shallow water hunting. The Vanquish has waterproof coils up to 1 m (3.3 ft) and Water Resistant control pod (with optional Rain Cover).
