Description

It is a mystery, but one that will never be discovered without accepting it from God, as from His hand. I am not sure I would place this is my k-12 Christian school library unless it came to my attention that we had a secondary female student who suffered from a chronic illness. Jesus told us we would face perilous trials and that even our bodies would feel the effects of the Fall.

I am disclosing this with my review in accordance with the Federal Trade Commission’s 16 CFR, Part 255. Each chapter employs the adjective “chronic” affixed to a Christian concept, upending the negative connotation of the word and demonstrating how Christ’s character and example show us how to live no matter the state of our physical condition. The Father's answer is in Isaiah 53: 10, "it was the will of the LORD to crush him; he has put him to grief. On the other end of the spectrum are those who blame you for your illness and insist that you are sick because your faith is not strong enough or because God is angry with you.For the past seven and a half years, since age 24, I have been battling chronic illness, and one diagnosis follows another in a domino effect as my body continues to fail me. To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. I so needed this book as I suffer from chronic illness and my faith has waned and my walk with Christ diminished as I wallow in my despair.

However, something that we often overlook is that if we belong to the Lord, we already have the cure! Unfortunately in today’s world many people have bought into ideals like the prosperity gospel because of how attractive it sounds, but there is an entire group of people fully ignored and/or unjustly judged. This book taught me so much more about my battle with my chronic illnesses and that god put me through this for a reason. For true and lasting comfort we must dig deeper into God’s Word and the context in which those much-used passages were written. It is evident that the heart of this author is for God, and the reader, and for those of us who suffer chronic disease and disability. As one who has chronic (and as yet undiagnosed) health issues, this book is a blessing and one I will probably purchase in paperback and refer to over and over again. Our Mission It is our intention to use this space as a platform to amplify the voices of humans navigating the fallout of chronic illness; to lend language to the complexities of our lives so that we can begin to share the unshareable; and to offer an honest glimpse into lives lived with and beyond illness. I was blessed time and again while reading this book as I was reminded of the promises in God’s Word and how they apply to my life.

God had a plan to put me here to help others for the chronic pain and save any lives I can for those that almost ended theirs. If you or a loved one suffer from chronic illness or are a caregiver for someone who does, “Chronic Love” will minister to your heart and soul and give you strength for the journey. What about Hebrews 12:6 "FOR THOSE WHOM THE LORD LOVES HE DISCIPLINES, AND HE SCOURGES EVERY SON WHOM HE RECEIVES. Now I rejoice in my sufferings for your sake, and in my flesh, I am filling up what is lacking in Christ’s afflictions for the sake of his body, that is, the church. Many of us would do as well for ourselves to handle the perplexities of chronic illness the way this author has.

We are by nature children of wrath and so every moment not being under His wrath, and having everything He permits work out to our good and His glory is grace and mercy, lavished. There is so much more about Christ suffering in us, feeling our infirmities, being under the yoke and bearing the burden of our afflictions and our anxieties. Every year we publish dozens of life-changing titles ranging from charming children's books to faith-deepening devotionals. Ever since I have become Mental Health Advocate and a try to be the voice for the silent and to END THE STIGMA.

The idea that God ordains chronic illness, gives it to people for His purposes is utterly disagreeable for me. Since the Bible very clearly says it is God who ordains suffering to even the choicest saints, it would be rebellious to assail God by words or arguments regarding any of His dealings toward us. As one who experiences more than one chronic condition, to think God “ordained” such makes me feel angry and rebellious against such a God. It has let me see how he too suffered, nailed to the cross and felt that he was forsaken by God, our Father and question why he also let him suffer.
