Description

After Eren wakes up from his nightmare, we are introduced to Armin and Mikasa. Armin is Eren’s best friend and he fills Eren’s head with dreams of seeing the outside world beyond the walls, telling him stories of oceans, deserts, mountains, volcanoes and all sorts of things they could never imagine witnessing with their own eyes if they continue to spend the rest of their lives hiding in mundane safety behind the walls. Armin is frail and timid, but he’s incredibly smart and proves his worth as a brilliant tactician. He’s also very loyal and protects his friends when the going gets tough. In full honesty, I already know a lot of the story because I just did a marathon of the Anime, but because of how it left off, I'm now in a tear to know what happens. :) So, just to be clear, the Anime is a top-notch production and deserves tons of accolades. I'm pretty sure this manga will step-up, too, so I'm remaining patient. On that day, mankind received a grim reminder. We lived in fear of the Titans and were disgraced to live in these cages we called walls.” Ciolek, Todd (October 11, 2013). "New York Comic Con 2013: Vertical Panel". Anime News Network . Retrieved October 29, 2013.

After being put through years of brutal military training, Eren and his friends are prepared to lay their lives on the line to exterminate every last titan in the world and bring freedom to humanity once more. But Eren doesn’t yet realize that he isn’t prepared for the many horrors that lie beyond the walls he grew up in. There’s more than just titans out there that want him and his friends dead.Isayama revealed that “I would like to say proudly, ‘I am very happy to have compiled all of my work into a book,’ but in fact, I have only done line drawings for the color illustrations”, revealing that the coloring for the new artbook was done by his assistant. reading: You know what, I liked this a little bit more after reading it again. It's possible that the crap I read before this made this seem better overall ... but, meh. Not bad. Overall I loved the plot of this manga and the illustrations were fearsome! Specifically the one of the Titans! I certainly recommend this! After what seems a slow start but still an interesting world-build, the emotional impact is still severe and bone-crunchingly immediate. There's usually never a warning before someone you love dies, but it's doubly so here.

Circumstances like this one are going to create intense emotions, there's no way around it, and the start of these characters' emotional journeys breaks my heart and makes me really, really curious over it all.I enjoyed this!! 🥰 Super interesting concept and lots of action. That cliffhanger was so cruel tho 😫😫

Two other novels were published in 2011, following Kuklo, a boy living with titan-kin. In September 2014, both volumes 1 and 2 of Before the Fall were released in North America by Kodansha’s Monthly Shōnen Sirius magazine. The symbolic aspect of this shouldn´t be underestimated, let´s say Japanese and general East Asian isolationism during the last centuries. And in most of these cases, the monsters won because of technological and military superiority. Without the specific Asian focus, it could also be seen as a general metaphor, allegory, or just freaking deep message about xenophobia, building walls, and fearing everything foreign.Sungeki no Kyojin ( 寸劇の巨人, "Titan Short Skits") is a comedic yonkoma manga written and illustrated by Hounori, released on Kodansha's Manga Box smartphone and tablet application from December 2013 to December 30, 2014, in both Japanese and English. [164] The first tankōbon volume was published on August 8, 2014, and the second on April 9, 2015. The English language version of the series was split into two parts instead of three. The first, Before the Fall, was released in North America in September 2014. The second, Kuklo Unbound, was released in May of 2015.
