It has a very delicate scent, similar to the Camomile Cleansing Oil but not as obvious and is soft and satin-like in texture with no greasiness.

And while this might be true with purely organic cleansing butters, I’m not convinced that it also applies to this one; I rather have the feeling that the smooth sensation that you get afterwards comes from ethylhexyl palmitate, which, as I said, is a substitute for silicones, which have a similar effect in non-natural skincare. Once inside the skin, it hydrates, but not from the outside - putting pure water on the skin (hello long baths!I suppose I rather expected a little more or maybe I was spoilt by the truly sumptuous textured Antipodes Grapeseed Butter Cleanser. They used to sell a daily moisturiser but unfortunately they have discontinued that so the gel-cream is as close as I can get. Been wanting to try the clinique cleansing balm but am so afraid if balms are not really suitable for my skintype.

But that’s actually not the real problem; I am fairly acne-prone and have used this butter for two years without any incidents — no, the real problem comes in the form of parfum, linalool, and limonene. Just wipe off with a wet face cloth, and I promise your skin will be looking and feeling its happiest.

This doesn’t dry out my skin or make it feel tight, instead my face feels clean and soft and it takes of makeup effortlessly. Both has soothing properties, but the German one contains more anti-inflammatory actives (like chamazulene).
