In this first of Jane Austen’s novels, she takes up the problem which young women faced in the England of the early 19th century. I load my board into my Jeep and drive south, not realizing that I’m headed for the cove until I get there. Cherly Strayed beautifully shares the wilds of the Pacific Crest Trail at the same time her words taking us on an emotional reflection of her childhood with her mother and of growing into adulthood after her mother’s death.Either way, IMO, she should have really struggled to let her guard down, given her past and present life.
