This is the first book I've read by Liliana Carlisle and I can definitely say I loved every second of it. When he doesn’t come home from a job—if burglary can be considered a job—I discover he’s been taken by a beast of a man with soulless eyes.

There was no nest building, no real 'out of mind' experience, again it was glossed over but usually heat is kinda long and crazy and this was just like pretty normal smut (besides the slick and knotting lol). I wasn’t expecting a lot for something that’s a plotless porn romp but the inconsistency and unrealistic occurrences were just too much for me to overlook when paired with less than mediocre sex scenes. Erik and Ellie had only had a handful of interactions and boned once when, all of a sudden, he was in love with her 🙄. Men ogled and touched as I offered my body and soul to the highest bidder, and I could tell my stranger didn’t like what he saw.

I knew immediately that I would love the premise of this story, however stories written in third person feel strange to me. For college student Emily Sheppard, the thought of spending a summer alone in New York is much more preferable than spending it in France with her parents. The character building and plot was not really good but I think that’s because the book is just short.

However i wasn’t overly keen on Ellie the fmc as i found her to be annoying at times , but I did enjoy watching their relationship bloom and the epilogue 😋🥺 SUCH A LOVELY ENDING !
