The Engino Challenger Space Shuttle is the kind of build that starts out a ton of fun and then steadily becomes more, well, challenging.

This allows for the angle of the 2×3 plate with hole to be adjusted, facilitating its attachment to the main assembly at an offset angle. There is just so much going on, and besides some shot rubber and cracks, it still all works perfectly. At that time it was a real challenge for me to follow all the drive trains and understand how the individual functions work and I enjoyed it so much.

The two solid rocket boosters that helped push them into space were also reusable after being recovered in the ocean. Two large 4×4 printed tiles add authenticity to each wing, as well as adding a layer of exclusivity to the set – more so than if these had just been stickers. Architecture-wise, it all comes together perfectly to look intricate, robust (even though it potentially isn't in movement) and a great glimpse into how complex engineering projects can become.Fantastic review – this is such an amazing set: you inspired me to try and clean/repair/replace the battery box and wires that haven't survived the test of time so well. In total you are probably looking at somewhere between six to eight hours depending on personal experience and speed. Interestingly that they only had one rotating LED light, rather than just having 8 lights which turn on and off randomly, but I guess that was a cost issue.

The Engino Challenger Space Shuttle ends up looking quite spectacular and is sure to spark the imagination of anyone excited by space travel.

The set comes with functional landing gear and a set of payload bay doors that, thanks to gravity, open and close with a joyously satisfying sound. Towards the latter stages the process becomes a little repetitive in places, but overall the build for both models is very entertaining.

While a Lego set may leave you lined up and ready to use numbered bags as needed according to the instructions, the Engino Challenger Space Shuttle lumps everything together. This isn't helped by the fact that the Engino Challenger Space Shuttle doesn't separate its components by bag. It may have been one of the hardest things to get right, but the designers can be proud of the finished result.As it is, this is just a small part of this set, and the fact there is a gigantic Space Shuttle to build next makes for a very exciting prospect. It would have given the set even more exclusivity, would have looked great displayed on the UCS-style stand and would have felt like an appropriate way to mark the 40th anniversary of the first Space Shuttle flight.
