However, when she moves in, she comes with two cats, Yon, a strange-looking white cat with a ghastly fur pattern on its back that resembles a skull, and Mu, Yon’s cute counterpart and playmate. In "Yon is a Weird Cat," J-kun, while finishing his manga on a tight deadline one night, imagines that Yon transforms into various beings, including a slug, the supernatural snake-like creature tsuchinoko, and an elderly man. I feel that without prior knowledge of his works, this will come off as just a bizarre little book and many won’t get the joke. Here though he’s telling simple and comedic moments about his own life with his fiancée and her two cats… but he’s a horror artist through and through, so how does he tell this tale?

his blushing bride-to-be has some unexpected company in tow - Yon, a ghastly-looking family cat, and Mu an adorable Norwegian forest cat. Thus ensues a long journey of a man trying desperately to make two moody cats adore him while also upholding the facade of not caring if they do or don't. Their contributions consist of Ito's comic, "Yon Went to Heaven," and his wife's letter chronicling the death of Yon from heart failure on 3 February 2011, about a month before the earthquake, and their subsequent grieving.

This was a hilarious combination of Ito's normal horror art style mixed with the comedy of having two cats with VERY different personalities. Critical discussions have centered around Ito's use of realism and exaggerated horror to elicit moments of comedy, the manga's relationship to previous works by Ito, and how the artwork depicts the relationship between cats and their caregivers. Little did he know…his blushing bride-to-be has some unexpected company in tow–Yon, a ghastly-looking family cat, and Mu, an adorable Norwegian forest cat. It's very funny and it's actually authentic, because you will also get a bonus gallery of Ito's real life cats, who look exactly like Yon and Muu.

His longest work, the three-volume Uzumaki, is about a town's obsession with spirals: people become variously fascinated with, terrified of, and consumed by the countless occurrences of the spiral in nature. For example: A girl's hair rebels against being cut off and runs off with her head; Girls deliberately catch a disease that makes them beautiful but then murder each other; a woman treats her skin with lotion so she can take it off and look at her muscles, but the skin dissolves and she tries to steal her sister's skin, etc.But cat lovers should be warned there is a bittersweet sting here, as Ito’s story extends to Yon’s final days. Junji Ito makes gleeful use of his superior horror aesthetics to create a charming love letter to the cats his wife forced into his life. Unidentified Creature" centers on a visit from A-ko's parents and Goro, the timid cat they bring along. This manga is a diary of the author’s life as he tries and often fails to connect with his two feline friends.

J, a dog person, was convinced into adopting two cats by his fiancee A-ko: Muu, a foreign cat, and Yun who has an accused face.Additionally, she pointed out that A-ko's trademark striped pants are nowhere to be found in her personal wardrobe. It features various anecdotes about living with cats, which center on J-kun, a horror manga artist (Ito's stand-in); his fiancée, A-ko (his wife Ayako Ishiguro's stand-in); her family cat, Yon ("Four"); and a Norwegian Forest cat, Mu ("Six"). The cats scratch things, make messes, bite, make him feel unworthy, all the things that cats do and he’s documented it here for our absolute enjoyment.
