Clean Rain is definitely not a "natural" scent and it doesn't invoke any imageries of rain for me, but it's nice and pleasant regardless. I've have yet to smell a fragrance that captures this essence of uban rain, but to be fair I've only tried one other rain scent, Replica's after the rain which is a verdant, wet forest/grass rain smell.

For example, some top note citrus scents smell stronger immediately upon application, while a lavender middle note may be sensed after some time from application as the top note evaporates. I was really suprised and disapointed that this fragrance is so masculine :( My boyfriend didn't notice it but I feel like I'm smelling like a guys deodorant or shampoo or something.That impression quickly dissipates, though, and a soapy, almost detergent quality comes through, but not nearly as sharp as in Warm Cotton, which I dislike. Firstly, I love the concept behind CLEAN fragrances, I like the whole idea that they help to evoke or prolong feelings of being clean or being caught in a refreshing summer rain storm and I also love that they are cruelty free and that the packaging and ingredients are sustainably sourced. As for the scent itself, it really does smell like rain, but more of a summer rain storm when you're walking through a woods, the patchouli really gives this a pleasant wet soil type nuance and there is something a bit salty running through this from beginning to end as well, I cannot really pick out the other notes bar the patchouli, but it does smell wonderful and fresh.Classified by Clean Reserve as a "watery musk," it smells like the ground -- pavement or minerally dirt -- when it first starts raining, at first blast. I bought the regular line Rain because it was discounted and I thought it would smell similar enough.
