Why did Jesus say this? Peter was being rebuked at the time because he was unwittingly speaking for Satan. After all, Satan was and still is willing to do anything and everything to distort God’s words and God’s plans to bring humanity under his reign. It did not originate with Bianca Del Rio on RuPaul's Drag Race in 2015. More than likely she heard it from abuelas or others in the drag community. Honestly, the idea of whether or not it is okay to say, “Not today, Satan,” seems like a gray area. I will say, however, it is never okay to put human thinking, ideas, or conclusions on God’s Word. No matter how popular it’s become. We should never cheapen God’s words or His sacrifice. Our job in this world, no matter the phrase, the holiday, the custom, the current culture, or way of life is to bring God’s Word and Jesus’ light to the forefront. Always, forever, and above all else. In light of our struggles and circumstances, we are to turn to the Word of God instead of some trending phrase or hashtag. Not today, Satan, not today" is the American vernacular translation of "Get the Behind me, Satan," and is a rebuke of any obstacle that can get in our way, telling it to get out of the way because we have bigger and better things to do.

This is my sense of humour and I enjoyed it in a format that I don’t access that much - I think it does make poetry more accessible rather than it being something that is difficult to decipher and understand at times. Because of Jesus’ powerful legacy and testimony, the phrase “Not today, Satan” has been Christianized in Christian circles because it seems as though we are rebuking the enemy. As for the secular world, it is truly ironic how those who deny Christ use this phrase. No matter how the world tries to reject God, they can’t help but proclaim His majesty in some shape or form because God imprinted Himself into the hearts of man. Romans 2:14-15 reminds us, “Even Gentiles, who do not have God’s written law, show that they know his law when they instinctively obey it, even without having heard it. They demonstrate that God’s law is written in their hearts, for their own conscience and thoughts either accuse them or tell them they are doing right.” Is it Okay for Christians to Say "Not Today Satan?" Lastly, I just wanted to say that I too did not know that Flo Rida’s name was supposed to be “Florida” because he’s from Miami. It seems obvious, but I just never put two and two together. Thanks for educating me, Andrew Shaffer.

While “Not Today Satan” may not have achieved mainstream commercial success, it has gained significant recognition within the Christian hip-hop community. The song’s powerful message and Andy Mineo’s passionate delivery have resonated with fans and garnered praise from critics. 12. How does “Not Today Satan” contribute to the larger conversation about faith and spirituality in music? The bottom line is this: We need and must clearly understand the covenant God made with us and the sacrifice Christ endured for our salvation. Through the lens of Christ, we need to remember we live in a fallen world and our job is to glorify and edify God in all that we say and do. Even then, we sometimes fail and still allow Satan to twist the truth of God’s Word and His love that God established from the beginning.

In a statement to Newsweek, Daniel Davis, a military expert with the Defense Priorities think-tank, also explained that tanks remain a key piece of hardware on the battlefield when deployed strategically. At the time Jesus rebuked Peter, our mighty Savior had just revealed to His disciples His plan of Salvation. He was about to suffer, die, and be raised to life ( Matthew 16:21; Mark 8:31). There are other Bible passages that support this point of view of not allowing Satan to get a foothold in our lives. And we as Christians ought to declare out loud with victory in our hearts through God’s Word and not some popular phrase. Honestly, the most effective weapon against the enemy is the Word of God. So, before we dive deeper into this phrase, here are seven awesome scriptures to have ready in your arsenal:

LISTEN: Being Complete in Jesus (Understanding Matthew 5:21-48)

The song has a profound impact on listeners, inspiring them to take control of their lives and resist negative influences. Many find solace in the empowering lyrics and feel motivated to strengthen their faith and stand firm in the face of adversity. 7. How does Andy Mineo’s personal journey influence the lyrics of “Not Today Satan”? The lyrics of “Not Today Satan” reflect a deep sense of determination and a refusal to allow negativity to control one’s life. Mineo highlights the importance of standing firm in one’s beliefs and resisting the allure of worldly pleasures. He emphasizes the need to stay true to oneself and remain focused on the path of righteousness, despite the challenges and temptations that may arise. These phrases have become widely popular in Christian circles. Everything from hashtags to coffee mugs, key chains, and t-shirts have these phrases proudly displayed. Redo elections of annexed regions under UN supervision. Russia leaves if that is will of the people.

Realising Beric's importance in keeping her alive, Arya says, "Not today," as she rushes to save her brother Bran and shut the blue eyes of the Night King forever. If you have bad tanks, untrained crews, poor coordination with other members of the team, bad leadership, then yes...tanks might become a 'death trap,'" Hertling wrote. "If you have trained crews, great armor, superb & long range firepower, and all members of the team have trained together in combined arms warfare, tanks provide survivability for their crew and a huge advantage on the battlefield. So for Musk to say 'tanks are a death trap,' and 'infantry and artillery is what's needed' is an indicator of how much he doesn't know."

Why This Phrase Has Become So Popular (Among Christians and Non-Christians)

John 16:33 “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” I did find myself laughing out loud at points, it does have some basis of meaning but it’s not going to have you re-evaluating your life and finding deep meaning.
