all of this combined feels like a lovechild between Mariana Zapata and Kristen Ashley and makes for a great comfort book = happy Phuong. The author knows how to depict movement and action. Show and tell. Maybe that's why it has so many decent critics. It's a story aesthetically pleasing.

At least, that’s the plan until the trouble turns to real danger. Things We Never Got Over: My Review Lina was his perfect match. She was kind of a badass, she had so many layers to her, making her the perfect person for Nash. Memphis Ward will do whatever it takes to keep her newborn baby safe. Even if that means moving thousands of miles to a small town in the middle of nowhere Montana and working as a housekeeper at The Eloise Inn, and living in a small apartment above a garage. At least there’s one silver lining: The hot, tattooed landlord and owner of said inn. Sustained by Emma Chase i love a little bit of small town suspense and the plot twists had me on the edge of my seat. this is a slow burn but the tension leading up to it is hottttt and the spice once the burn starts burning was delish.i'm always a little dubious of a second book when i absolutely loved the first one but i loved this book and these characters so so so much.

why are both brothers obsessed with dogs its just so BORING like just gimme the dog pov at this point it’s probably more interesting than nash. give them different things to love idk 😭 and its the way we get sm detail about their dogs too. i honestly dont care. babe lets switch it up a bit! my man lucian better be different. maybe he’ll have a parrot or something idk. Oh Julia, but it's fiction. Give it a rest. I have a list of romantic comedies with sunshine and grumpy characters that were written like a damn masterpiece. This one is just bad, I am sorry.Since Naomi’s life imploded right in front of Knox, the least he can do is help her out of her jam. But Lina has reasons for her return to town, and if those secrets come to light, Nash may never forgive her. However, Lina has no plans to plant roots, so a fling with the handsome cop is perfectly acceptable. There’s just one problem. I almost forgot that one of Knox's main character traits is that he won the lottery. And when it's first mentioned, they talk about how Knox was smart with his money and didn't blow it all on random things, so he's still a millionaire today. But throughout the entire book, Knox is so stupid with money. He quite literally throws his money at people to buy their affection. He likes to use his money to try and control people and resorts to bribery to get his way. And I'm supposed to believe this is a guy who is smart and benevolent with his money? Nope. There is a happily ever after, and not only do we get one epilogue, BUT ALSO A BONUS EPILOGUE. Seriously, in that bonus epilogue?!?!? With Way and Knox and the way they spoke to each other?! OH MY GOD MY HEART EXPLODED!! Now here’s the catch—even though Nash and Lina’s relationship was supposed to be the focal point of the story, their romance didn’t really interest me. I did enjoy the story over all (though I guessed who Burner Phone Guy was pretty early on), but I just wasn’t invested in N&L’s relationship.
