Description

This product should NOT be split. Taking smaller quantities from each tin, even if measured correctly, may cause issues with activating. Slip resistance can be enhanced by incorporating our medium grade anti-slip aggregateadditive into the system. Scatter the aggregate onto the wet first coat, this should be allowed to dry, then the loose particles brushed away before applying the second coat. Floorsaver Epoxy Floor Paint is a two part epoxy resin supplied as a tin of resin and a tin of curing agent. Once the contents of the two tins have been mixed together, a reaction takes place which causes the product to cure. This means that one 5L tin can’t be used for 2 coats. It will cover 30m2 with one coat, but if you have for example, 15m², you can’t use half the 5L tin for the first coat, then wait for the first coat to dry before using the other half for the second coat – it will have gone off in the tin. This is why we also make a 2.5L size. This covers 15m² with one coat, so select two of these if you want to apply 2 coats to an area of up to 15m². Separating the mix can be done by either weight or by volume, but make sure you’re using the one consistent with the datasheet. New concrete should be at least 2 months old and always washed with floorsaver Floor Etcher to reduce alkalinity and to remove any weak, loose cement deposits.

When mixing with a mechanical mixer you need to be sure that it is set at a low speed. It may be tempting to crank up the speed to try and mix it faster, but the heat that will be generated from mixing faster would cause issues further down the line. The heat affects the reaction between the base and activator, and has a detrimental impact on the curing. This product is NOT UV stable therefore can discolour when exposed to regular sunlight. For areas with plenty of repeated sunlight, please coat with a coloured UVR coating such as Resincoat Chemical Resistant UVR Floor Coating for a UV stable finish. Q: I wish to repaint a concrete garage floor with 2 coat epoxy resin . It has previously been painted with Watco Epoxy Matt Coat. This is now 8 years old and soiled . The colour was light grey Matt finish. It can be applied to bare concrete, wood, sand and cement screeds as well as existing well bonded paint. We recommend two coats, but if you're painting over an existing paint in a similar colour, one coat should be enough. If the concrete isn’t too patterned then you could use the Car Park Paint https://www.floorsaver.co.uk/collections/exterior-paint/products/car-park-paint?variant=1224564211730 however if the concrete is heavily patterned you would just need to be careful and make sure the paint doesn’t pool where its indented. I am afraid i would recommend finding a DPM product to apply first. This can be an epoxy damp proof membrane or paintable style coating rather than a traditional DPM system. Provided our water based epoxy coating can be painted on top, this woud still be a very practical solution. To ensure fair pricing, we split colours into ‘Price Bands’ to group together similar priced colours. If you wish to search for the cheapest tinted colours, always select Price Band 1. The right choice for garage floors as it'll stand up to hot tyres and resist automotive fluids and chemicals that ruin ordinary paint. Safe and easy to use, virtually solvent free (extremely low VOC) for hygienic areas.

New concrete must be allowed to cure thoroughly which can take up to 3 months. Other surfaces have to be prepared and primed with the suitable primer for that substrate. Existing painted surfaces - Surfaces should be cleaned, degreased and sanded to ensure an adequate "key" is produced. Remove all loose and flaking material and treat bare areas as new substrate and prepare accordingly. Mix Part A on its own with a mixing paddle attached to an electric drill for about 1 minute before adding ALL of Part B and continue to mix for another 90 seconds, keeping the paddle in suspension to avoid mixing air into the unit.

PLEASE NOTE: The pot life of this product is 20 minutes. This means that once parts have been mixed, the paint will start to chemically cure after this time. Ensure you remove the paint from the tin in this window. The paint will then be workable on your floor for up to 40 minutes. However, any water rising from the surface below could cuase the paint to be pushed from the surface. Although it is a hard wearing epoxy product and it is likely, with a textured surface to achieve a strong bond, the rising water could still be a problem as this causes pressure below the coating. As many of our customers are classic car owners or business, we though that you might be interested in this small business which offers top quality and authentically made number plates.

On bare, reasonably clean concrete wash with floorsaver Floor Etcher. This cleans and keys the surface.Applying to hard, very smooth power floated concrete where paint cannot sink into the surface. If in doubt, tip a cup of water over the surface and see if it soaks in or not. Two coats of Resincoat HB Epoxy Garage Floor Paint can provide the equivalent of ten coats of conventional coatings containing solvent or water based epoxy products. Our floor paint is the perfect choice for your garage or car service centre as it is oil tolerant as well as being resistant to any other automotive fluid that would ruin standard paints. A: We do not recommend our products going over self levelling compounds. However, some manufacturers say that they can be painted, so it's best to speak to Sika and ask them. They may say that a two part, water based epoxy resin can be used, if this is the case then ours would fit the bill but we couldn't guarantee anything.

The cured final coat is ok for foot traffic. Cars and heavy objects, however, should be left off the new coating for the first 48 hours and chemicals including water should not be introduced for the first 7 days (Full chemical cure). To find Ready Mixed colours, search "ready mixed" or select the Ready Mixed 'colour chart'. To see Tinted colours select a colour chart such as RAL, BS, NCS, etc. or search for a colour/hue to see available or related options. As dictated by normal good painting practice. Do not apply if the temperature is likely to drop below 10°C during application or during the drying process. In confined spaces provide adequate ventilation during application and drying. Drying Time- Touch dry in 30 minutes, hard dry after 12 hours. Recoatable after 16 hours (minimum) and prior to 10 days (maximum). Mixed pot life: approximately 12-16 hours. After the products are mixed, and the chemical reaction has started, sometimes an exothermic reaction happens and the paint gets hot. But don’t worry, that’s perfectly normal. As long as the mixing itself was done slowly it’s all fine. I would wish to have a Matt finish or low sheen but not gloss. Thank you. I look forward to your guidance. Q: I’ve levelled my floor with Arden k301 which I chose because it is suitable for overpainting with resin paint. If the floor is still damp as a result of cleaning, it's not a problem since this is a water based epoxy. However, don't put it onto floors where there is rising damp.
